I recently booked a surprise stay at this charming cabin for my wife’s birthday. From the moment we arrived, the owner, Carl, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He personally guided us to our cabin, made sure we knew all the details, and ensured we felt comfortable. The location is beautifully remote, perfect for those who love peaceful nature and being close to trails. Unfortunately, after a rainy evening, my wife felt uneasy due to a few small insects in the cabin, which I assume are common after heavy rain, especially given the cabin's proximity to the woods. Since she was uncomfortable, we decided to check out within couple of hours and informed Carl. He was so understanding and generous that he provided us with a refund, showing how much he truly cares about his guests' experience. Even though this cabin wasn’t the perfect fit for us, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet retreat surrounded by nature. Carl’s hospitality and kindness make it a wonderful choice!

This is an amazing getaway!! My husband and I tent camped but they also have RV hook ups and cabins to rent. It was easy to book on the website and the owner is easy to reach by phone with any questions as well. The space is tucked away and you feel very surrounded by nature but there’s also a grocery store 10 minutes away if you forget any essentials (like us). The camp is well maintained and the owner is really nice and helpful if you need anything. We loved saying hi to the three little goats that live in a fenced off area of the compound. The camp is located in Blue Rock Forest and the state park is minutes away with its beach and trails. The camp shower had plenty of hot water and there was a water spigot for washing dishes. They also have a little rec room with a microwave, video games and even a purified water dispenser! The road to get into the camp is unpaved but well managed and we easily drove it in our Prius. I highly recommend this spot and hope to be back soon! 🏕️

Better than Hocking Hills. Same area, but not overrun with tourists. Blue Rock state park and the Big Muskie bucket to name a few. It's a "back in the holler" style campground. But without the row of crappy seasonal campers that never move, or noisy drunks on golf carts. They have a great location, reasonably accessible with truck and camper. No cell service, but the have a solid wifi network. And it's quiet. There's pretty much zero light pollution as well. Brought my NODs and this was some of the best stargazing I've seen outside the desert. Service note- I booked a 50 amp site (my fault), didn't have an adapter, and the owner hunted one down. Really appreciate that.

STOP! You've officially found what you're looking for. This place is so much better than a hotel- it cost less, it's far more beautiful- it's so peaceful and green, I feel like I'm in a fairy tail. The cabin I'm in should cost far more than a fancy hotel because it's so neat and clean and cute. The place is clean, there's a very nice bathroom and shower indoors, there's a rec room and all sorts of toiletries, a fridge and microwave and these cute little bridges and tons and tons of space. There's fire pits outside and tables for cooking- they've got it all. That's not all! The beautiful couple that owns this place are STAND UP people- I'm talking, salt of the earth people. I'm unfortunately on a trip to scatter my passed brothers remains across the east coast- traveling from Colorado. I lost 1/2 of my cats when I got here :( BIG sad. That cat IS my family and Shayla and Carl spent HOURS walking through mud and poision ivy and creeks calling for her only to discover she was tangled in a lead line and her harness under the cabin!! She was stuck, I wouldn't have found her and she probably would have starved to death if they didn't help me. I would have never recovered. AFTER we discovered my baby under the cabin, they both got down on their hands and knees and stomachs and got up under the place with me to dig her out- literally. They actually dug into their ground and jacked the cabin up to help me get my baby out!!! They literally pulled the steps off their house and one of them even cut themselves helping me. I haven't ever experienced this amount of kindness before- especially from a random stranger but man, these are good people. You'd be silly to go anywhere else- I am making this into new yearly stop for me. Don't miss...
