Booked a room here for a few nights while visiting family. Owned by a very nice, sweet couple. Staff was great and attentive to my couple requests I had throughout my stay. I had a second floor room with a king bed. My room was clean and well-maintained overall and the bed was comfortable. Room had a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and smart TV. Parts of the hallways and stairwells could have been more regularly vacuumed and shower curtain and in-room coffee machine could have used a deep clean, but overall accommodations were sufficient and comfortable. Continental breakfast was mostly carbs and some fresh fruit. Coffee was not as strong or flavorful as I like but did the job. Hotel is at the edge of town so walking to the downtown area is about a mile. Easy driving to anywhere in town. Covered Bridge restaurant and bar is right across the parking lot, which is very convenient as they have good food. Hotel could have used a small outside sitting area. Price for the hotel was very good. Overall a nice stay and will stay here again next time...
Read moreI really can't say anything good about this place except the owner was very pleasant when I checked it. The room didn't smell very good when we went in but I thought maybe it was because it had been closed up. When I opened the window I noticed that the screen was bent and not really connected to anything. The bathtub was very dirty and the BR vanity had cigarette burns or some kind of stains on it. The carpet felt very dirty when I walked on it barefoot. Also noticed the showerhead was gunky. The beds were soft and the 3 pillows smashed down into one almost flat pillow. The sheets appeared clean. There were sticky spots on the window sill. Hanging clothes was not possible because the hangers were over the top of a table. We should have left but our puppy had surgery scheduled at the vet clinic down the street the next morning and this was the only place we could stay to get him there on time. Don't stay here, you...
Read moreThis hotel was...interesting. Our room was clean, the people friendly. We had booked a room with a hot-tub/whirlpool bath and were a bit surprised to see vinyl laminate flooring instead of carpeting. A bit strange. While the rooms are non-smoking and ours was free of odor, the hallway reeked like the smoky bars of years ago. You have to walk through the stench to get to your room.||They have incredibly hard water! When the water and bubble bath left the tub, the rusty orange was left. And, yes, the water is an orange color while filling it! Breakfast is minimal. Don't expect pancakes, waffles or any type of protein. ||We chose this hotel as most in Rochester were full. As it was a quick overnight we didn't want to pay $200+ for a five star hotel. ||The space under the door seemed big. We stuffed a towel in the crack to stop the hallway light and any noise. ||It was quiet. It was clean. For under $100, one...
