We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, marking our first experience with them.
1st. Upon check-in, I provided my passport as required, but unfortunately, it was not returned to me until later that evening.
2nd. The staff members were courteous and polite.
3rd. At 2 am, we encountered a shower flood, which I promptly reported to the reception. Shockingly, I was informed that there were no supervisors or managers available during the night shift. To my disbelief, I was handed a bucket and mop to rectify the situation myself, which is unacceptable for a "4-star hotel" where we were paying $USD148 per night. Despite requesting to speak with a manager the next morning, they forgot about it.
I eventually managed to speak with the maintenances supervisor, only to be informed that the manager were too busy to address my concerns and had already left.
The maintenance supervisor later apologized for the mishandling of the situation and offered us dinner as compensation. However, they were unable to accommodate our request for a room change due to full occupancy. That meant waiting in our room for an hour and 40 mins while they fix the bathroom and clean the room.
Unfortunately, after consuming a Napolitanian beef milanese at the hotel, I fell extremely ill upon returning home the next day. Experiencing vomiting, chills and body aches for the first time after a hotel stay.
Despite my efforts, I have not received any follow-up from the hotel management, even after requesting it.
Based on my experience, I strongly advise against staying at this hotel.
I hope the hotel management values our feedback and takes steps to improve their service.
Regarding the food, I am still...
Read moreI give them 3 stars because when I called before they gave me one price (107/ night), but then they charged a lot more, so the bill I was expecting to be around 2000 dollars, ended up in 3000!! I couldn't take the time to complain there, because we had to catch a flight, there were other people at the reception, and I doubt that the young woman there would have been able to do anything, I have to take it to Hilton customer service. The staff was always very polite. This is a new construction, so the rooms were really nice. Great shower! Mini fridge and electric kettle, no microwave but there's one in the lobby that you can use. There's guest laundry available, but it is 10$ per load washer/dryer/soap/softener and you have to buy the whole package. Breakfast was really good. The scrambled eggs are a little watery for my taste, but that's just me. There was sometimes food on the floor that was not from the breakfast, obviously left there from the night before, so they don't clean it after dinner. The end of breakfast time is very strict, don't arrive late! If you are already there, they give you a few minutes warning before they close. The restaurant's menu didn't have many vegetarian options, and the fish dishes were very smelly, so we went out rather than eating there. There's no room service either, you can order and take it to the room, but then you can also have food delivered from a...
Read moreA return stay to the Hampton by Hilton Montevideo Carrasco due to its proximity to the airport. The hotel is modern, clean, and comfortable. Everything you expect and need for a short stay: nice breakfast, beautiful pool view a view of the lake, good fitness center, and solid Wi-Fi.||||The staff was professional and friendly and quickly resolved an issue with a malfunctioning door lock and changed the room when the lock could not be fixed quickly. Handled the matter professionally and politely.||||The hotel is a couple of blocks from Park Roosevelt for a nice walk or run. Not much else in the immediate area, but if you are up to a 20 minute walk, you can get to a shopping area with a hypermarket and a variety of eating options.||||Criticism: This is an airport hotel but there is not an airport shuttle. I know I have made this comment before, but that is strange for an airport hotel. Unfortunately this is consistent with the expensive nature of Uruguay. You need a taxi or Uber to get to or from the airport. And this is not a hotel for visiting the urban part of Montevideo since it is about 45 minutes from the center of the city and public transportation in the area exists but is not the best.||||If you are arriving late or departing early at MVD, definitely recommend the Hampton by Hilton Montevideo Carrasco. Just keep asking them to get an...
