I got stuck I Montevideo airport thanks to the unhelpful people of LATAM... and I had to stay one more night in this country. I check the closest hotel to Carrasco airport and the Hilton was to expensive, so I found 3-star Bahamas hotel that look ok for 1 night. It is close to the airport but as I arrived, I found that the Check out time was 10:30 am! I asked if I could have a late check||Out... maybe at midday and they said that I can pay 1/2 of the day fare to stay until 5 pm. No concession made... so disappointed I agreed to leave at 10:30 just after breakfast. But my room was in another building and it was really a small grubby place... basic furniture, kind of clean... the TV was not working, and when I tried to use the phone... there was not cord connected to the useless phone (see pics) the “view” was a white cover that it could not be raised. Well... the hard mattress did not help as the shower just gave the minimum amount of water to use it.||It was a disappointment from the staff reception to the insignificant room. I just give this place 1-star and only for the delicious cakes offered during breakfast....

You don't receive a phone call, and you might not even notice the cancellation. They blamed Expedia, but then I tried Booking, and they cancelled that one too. A total of FOUR cancellations, and this is for a $0 reservation (they insist I only pay when I arrive). I suspect that Expedia probably takes a percentage, so they changed their system to try to avoid that.
Fortunately, I have a Uruguayan credit card, but I don't think I should have to be forced to use that, just because their system is having troubles with American cards at the moment.
I've stayed here several times in the past and hadn't had troubles then, this is new and is in their system. If I hadn't stayed there in the past, I'm pretty sure I would have given up and gone somewhere else by now just from the frustration of making multiple...

At times there are three or four people manning the front desk. Yes, ¨manning´. They check guests in and out and also serve as bellmen. ||Parking sometimes gets full and overflows into the adjacent outdoor parking lot. I have stayed here about ten times. The walls are thin and people in the halls tend to make noise talking, but I have had no complaints. ||All of the rooms are upstairs and there is an elevator for those who need it. The bellman always accompanies me to the room because there is some winding around halls and stairways to get to the rooms. It is a good idea to check and see if the combination air conditioner-heater is working before the bellman leaves when he delivers bags. ||Not a fun place or romantic, but the rooms have been recently updated. The property is old but not smelly and a good deal at a...
