The hotel is close to the central plaza and the only one we could find when we arrived late and tired. From the outside it looked not too bad, the same goes for the reception area and lounge, and the receptionist was friendly and very helpful. ||I choose the superior room because that would give us some more space..... Well, in that extra space they had managed to put an extra bed and a baby bed. The bathroom was the standard small room with a shower you find in most business budget hotels. There is no graded parking so you have to leave your vehicle on the street.||||The whole hotel smelled of damp, maybe because of the water running over the window of the patio garden or maybe because Durazno had had 2 weeks of heavy rainfall. The carpet in the hallway and stairs has not been cleaned in ages, so the smell of smoking is still very much present.||||The room smelled also of damp but luckily we could open the window, start the fan and the airco at the same time and after an hour or so, it was bearable. The bedlinen also smelled of damp.||||The breakfast buffet is standard. ||||So all in all, we thought it was too pricy for what it offers but still, it was fully booked with...
Read moreWhat a complete and utter dump this place is. It started with the most unfriendly of check ins we have experienced thus far in Uruguay. For some reason our hotel "room" is actually on the ground floor directly behind the check in desk. Our window looks directly on to the sidewalk. Street noise is already a factor.||There are electrical wires running directly into the wall behind the power recepticle without using a proper plug. This is dangerous. Paint flecks are all over the clock and lamps. The bedding smells. sigh Do I need to continue this list? This place is a complete joke, avoid...
