I was taken aback of this place, it is as the other reviewer mentioned, a very good place. It is not super cheap, but for the price and what you get, it is really reasonable. One of the best place I have come across in Uruguay where the building is well maintained both exterior and interior. ||Rooms are large, with high ceilings. Facilities are very modern. ||The 4 star that is given to this place seems correct. Seems that the owner of this place is also the owner of the Hotel Plaza up the street. I would pay more to stay at this place compared to the Hotel Plaza.||There is a small pool to relax and bicycles for free use to go round Fray Bentos city and the rambla area. ||Staff are very friendly and attentive.||Breakfast spread is as expected, Uruguayian type of breakfast. Parking is available in front of the hotel.||Locationwise, good for both the city center and the rambla area. In front of the hotel is a small square which is very well maintained.||The place is also a place where tourist can just come in to ask for touristic advise for the Rio Negro department. ||In general quite a hidden gem. Will certainly recommend this place. Only minor complain is the email response is quite slow. ||Staff can speak very...
Read moreThis was a walk in the following morning after arriving too late (gone 23:00) in Fray Bentos the previous night. They had the one room available, a twin, which was perfect for our two night stay.||||Air con and a ceiling fan kept this cosy room cool, as did the shutters on the window by keeping the sunlight out. The room also boasted a laptop friendly safe, large fridge and CRT TV with limited channels in English. The in room wi-fi, was generally reliable and there was even a small table and chair to set up the laptop.||||The beds were comfortable with good linen, the room was clean and well appointed with bedside lights and the bathroom was spotless too. WC, bidet and walk in shower all worked well (although the shower curtain creeps inwards and can cling to you which is a pain) and you’ll find a power point and hair dryer in place too.||||Breakfast was more than adequate and worth a look and the it costs UYU 50 to the bus station which is fair and saves a long walk along the High Street in the savage heat.||||More details and pictures on our Blog- see profile for address, or just send us a...
Read moreNice place for reasonable (not super cheap, but reasonable) price. Our room was VERY spacious -- large bed, mounted TV, two end-tables, a small dining table and two chairs, a daybed/couch high ceilings, and plenty of open space. And we just had a basic double room.Room and bathroom were spotless. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast with a variety of pastries. Nice courtyard area and a pool.||||Decent location -- just blocks from the rambla in one direction, a few blocks from the main plaza in the other direction, and a small quiet plaza is right across the street. Hotel has wi-fi...and the main plaza up the street also offers free wi-fi.||||The day we checked out, they locked up our bags for us so we could walk around town until catching the bus. Fray Bentos is a pleasant little town, and this hotel was a positive part of...
