Marittimo — Hotel in José Ignacio

Avoid this place if you value honesty and professionalism. We saw this property listed on a well-known booking site for USD 34 per night for a private room. Wanting to support the owner directly, we went in person. However, we were told the rate was actually USD 60. When we mentioned the listed price, the owner (through her employee) insisted the website was wrong. We then booked online at the advertised rate, but she still refused to honor it.

We even overheard her scolding her employee for letting us book through the site, which was completely unfair. To make matters worse, the internet was suddenly cut (on purpose Im sure) while we were trying to contact the booking site for help. The property was empty during low season, yet instead of being reasonable, the owner was extremely rude to both guests and her own staff.

Booked this place through a well-known travel website at the listed price, only to arrive and be told the owner wouldn’t honor it. She demanded almost double what was clearly shown online. We spent hours trying to sort it out, including contacting the booking site - and ended up wasting nearly half a day and a long trip out there for nothing.

It’s incredibly frustrating when a business advertises one price but refuses to stand by it. Travelers plan around these listings in good faith, and this kind of behavior ruins the experience. There’s no excuse for misleading pricing and such poor communication. Definitely not...

Realizamos una reserva por Booking con mi novia de una cabaña de 2 ambientes (1 habitación y living comedor con cocina) de casualidad se nos ocurrió contactar a la dueña y nos informó que "por error" subió fotos erroneas de la unidad y nos indicó que la cabaña era otra (un sólo ambiente, menos de la mitad de metros y mini cocina). Realizamos la queja a lo que obviamente ofreció cancelar la reserva. La cabaña no sólo tiene fotos falsas publicada sino que también la descripción por lo cual sospecho que es el modus operandi de esta mujer es ese. Hay otros reviews sobre esto mismo OJO.
