Hotel Crown — Hotel in Melo

The hotel is located in the centre of Melo. No private parking but there are possibilities around to park your car in the streets (free). We can't say it's a bad hotel. It is like a very old "luxury" hotel but completely overpriced for what you get. We were in may so low season and we paid the same as a great 4 stars in Punta del este. Staff is very nice. Breakfast not good with a limited choice of food. Breakfast room not pleasant. The lobby of the hotel is charming and the configuration is not bad but the rooms are tiny and needs a big restoration. All the hotel is clean and well kept as well as the room and the bathroom. Room equiped with a fridge and a tv but really not pleasant. Wifi connection abominable and only possible in the lobby. In conclusion, the only "good hotel" in the centre of Melo where you can go for 1 or 2 nights but try maybe to negociate your price because they take advantage of their...

Our two-night stay in Hotel Crown was very comfortable. The hotel is extremely clean, breakfast was typical for Uruguay: tea, coffee, fruit juice, assorted breads, ham, and cheese. All tasty and fresh. Service was very good. We were unable to get good wifi in our room (number 87), but it worked well in the lobby and we were able to find a quiet spot to check email and do the basics. Credit cards are accepted. Parking is on the street, but we had no difficulty finding a spot. Melo appears to be a very safe place; we didn't see anyone locking their cars!!! We can recommend this hotel...

Hola amigos viajeros. El Hotel Crown es un hotel discreto pero acorde a la oferta en la ciudad. Este hotel es la mejor opción dentro de la ciudad, de todas formas hay mucho por seguir mejorando. Su personal es lo más destacado, sobre todo cuando uno trata con ellos de forma directa. La mayor deficiencia son las instalaciones. Habitaciones poco actualizadas, ropa de cama limpia pero vieja. Baños anticuados y con poco cariño en los detalles. Se valora que tiene frigobar, algunos hoteles más lujosos no tienen. El desayuno es muy sencillo con casi nada de fruta natural. Estacionamiento sólo frente al hotel, no hay parking privado. Junto al personal lo que más se destacada es el ambiente familiar y relajado, pero entiendo que a ese capital hay que apoyarlo con infraestructura para que lo puedan defender mas. Si tienen que ir o pasar por Melo el hotel cumplirá con sus necesidades básicas, no espere una experiencia de sorpresa o lujo. Buenos...
