Hotel Verdún — Hotel in Minas

Had to stop for the night in Minas. The hotel being the most conveniently located of very few options, decided to stay here even though it had been impossible to find prices on-line (and no-one picked up the phone when I called beforehand). The rooms - though reasonably clean - are worn, there are basically no amenities, the A/C worked poorly and noise insulation is next to zero. Breakfast was poor. During a family trip in Uruguay found this first class hotel in Minas . It has recently been redone and is now very comfortable . Spacious rooms with all commodities plus a very well appointed bathroom . The shower is a delight ! Outdoor swimming pool . HOTEL VÉRDUN - MINAS, URUGUAY

No interior do Uruguai, em cidades como Minas por exemplo, a vida é pacata e muito simples. Muitas vezes parece até sofrida. Mas não vemos miséria, não vemos violência. Existe dignidade. Aqui nos sentimos seguros e confortáveis. Com topografia e vegetação incomum para o país, morros e pequenas florestas são vistas nos arredores. Um bom lugar para passeios de bicicleta. Já o hotel contrasta com a cidade. É amplo e limpo, tanto no saguão como nos quartos. Colchões bons e ducha boa. Ventilado. Café da manhã poderia ser melhor. Fica numa esquina em frente a um quartel da polícia. Não tem estacionamento mas não há problemas em deixar o carro na rua. Apesar de estar no centro da cidade, fica silencioso a noite. Sábado pela manhã, ao lado do quartel e em frente à igreja, acontece uma simpática e pequena feira de verduras, frutas, carnes, queijos e salames. Senhores e senhoras uruguaios apreciam!
