Booked this hotel on the internet the day before arrival for about US$80. On arrival, we had been given a triple although we'd booked a double. Went down to explain just to avoid any nasty surprises in the morning when we came to pay the bill. Receptionist explained they'd saved us the triple for the price of a double. Extremely friendly male staff member at reception, couldn't do enough to help us with internet, providing ice, etc and didn't mind struggling with our poor command of Spanish. Same with female receptionist in the morning.||||Ours was a spacious room with useful features such as power points, bar fridge, good desk space and plenty of room to move around. A very nice large & clean shower/toilet with reliable hot shower. This like many hotels in Uruguay seems to have an undergone a recent bathroom upgrade.||||large windows looked onto a horrible view of rusted corrugated rooftops but it was quiet as located in the rear. ||||Unfortunately, some of the walls were plagued with mildew and paint peeling off the walls. The room had air-con so it has airflow.||||Breakfast was reasonable with the usual overly sugary cereals, fruit and toast. Plenty of pan de azucar of course. Huge large dining area (which make it look more like a furniture showroom than a hotel from the outside) and looks out onto the street through large glass windows. Didn't seem to have many guests staying and our only breakfast companion was a friendly local who spoke to us in English.||||Nice secure undercover parking area via the back of the service station next door. This was probably one of the better value hotels we stayed in during our tour of Uruguay but I can't help thinking that $80 is a lot to charge for a room...

I am glad I always carry an emergency roll with me. It's not an extremely attractive place, especially the bathroom, but the location is not far from the center of town and restaurants. The breakfast was only OK. The one good thing about this hotel is that the towels were the softest I have ever had in any hotel in South America. I won't be...
