Posada Irsis — Hotel in Punta Rubia

😊: Posada IRSIS was a perfect location for our 4 night stay in La Pedrera. I only made the booking 10 days before we travelled but the booking was confirmed quickly and Juan messaged to advise to pay in cash. He then messaged via WhatsApp to give us directions to the property. We arrived a little late than planned after travelling from the UK but Juan was there to meet us and check us in. He gave us the option of a room upstairs or downstairs and we chose downstairs as the bed was bigger! The room was basic (bed and bathroom) but clean and comfortable for our stay. Breakfast was again simple but tasty each morning. There is parking available right outside the property. Juan was always around during our stay and was always very friendly and available to chat. I'm glad he could speak English for me! Wifi was available in the main reception area. The property is a short 5 minute drive from the main areas in La Pedrera with bars and restaurants and the beach is also within walking distance. We ended up in Punta Rubia by luck. Juan, the owner & operator of this hostal and its restaurant (open seasonally) is an amazing host. Juan opened his doors to us without a reservation. He was excited to spend time with us, learn from us & teach us about his culture. We were a group of five who stayed in two rooms. One with a double bed and another room with a double bed & twin bed. The accommodations were bare & a bit rustic but certainly sufficient. Buses stop near Punta Rubia multiple times a day & Juan helped us with the bus schedule & informed us how to get to Cabo Polonia. We were here in the low season so it was very quiet - no restaurants open, few people but it is a stunning location with the beach just a 5 minute walk away. Very limited...

I arrived before the start of the summer season so I was the only guest staying. Juan and his girlfriend were wonderful hosts. We had engaging conversations during breakfast. And they invited me to lunch before the bus arrived just before my departure.|My room was spacious and quiet. Oh the birds squawked at sunrise in the eucalyptus in the mornings but that just added to the natural atmosphere. It beats traffic sounds.|I easily walked to the beach and into town.|Perfect room, perfect hosts, and perfect location adds up to a perfect stay. And if you are lucky, they will have delicious...
