I’ve travelled quite a lot and have stayed in a variety of different hotels in different countries. I rarely write reviews, good or bad, but I feel like I should warn other travellers to avoid this hotel. In summary, I have never had an experience as bad as my experience with Hotel Friday Old City. I would strongly discourage anyone from staying here. After completing an initial 3-night stay that I’d booked through booking.com, I asked if I could extend my stay by two nights as my plans had changed. The receptionist said yes and quoted me a price of $48. However, the next day a member (or multiple members) of staff started banging on my door and ringing my room’s telephone to ask if I was checking out. I replied that I’d booked the room for two nights, and they left me alone. However, when I went to check out, I was charged an extra $48. I replied that the price I’d been quoted was $48 for two nights, which they said was actually the price for one night. I spoke to the hotel’s sales manager, Otabek, who offered to look at the CCTV to see whether I’d said one night or two, however I had to get to the airport so I ended up paying. I later contacted them to request the CCTV footage, which they sent me. In it, I told the receptionist that I’d like to stay for ‘two nights’ on two separate occasions and was quoted a price of $48. I therefore asked for the extra payment to be refunded, which the management refused to do. I find this highly dishonest; they were rude and even tried to place some of the blame on me. I understand that sometimes employees make mistakes, but it shouldn’t be up to hotel guests to pay for those mistakes. It seems that Otabek has now deleted the entire chat between us on Telegram, which I find very shady. Thankfully, I saved the CCTV footage he sent me, some of which I have attached to this review. Other than that, the second room I stayed in initially smelt horrible, the location is far from the city centre, and most of the staff were cold and generally unfriendly. There are so many hotels in Tashkent, so I would strongly advise you not to risk staying here.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the newly opened Hotel Friday Old City in Tashkent, and I can't recommend it enough. The hotel is brand new, and it really shows—everything is spotlessly clean and beautifully detailed. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how fresh and new everything felt. The rooms, whether you go for a standard or a luxury one, are thoughtfully designed with all the comforts you'd want. The bathrooms are sleek and modern, adding to the overall clean and high-quality vibe of the hotel. A big plus is the hotel's fantastic location. It's just a 10-minute walk to the Hazrati Imam Complex, which is perfect if you’re interested in checking out this historic site and exploring the area. The service here is outstanding. The staff are super friendly and attentive, with Otabek standing out for his willingness to help with anything we needed. His warm welcome and professional attitude made our stay even better. I also had a chance to meet the management, and they were just as welcoming and committed to making sure every guest feels at home. All in all, our stay at Hotel Friday Old City was fantastic. With its cleanliness, great location, and reasonable rates, it’s an excellent choice for anyone visiting Tashkent. If you’re looking for a modern, well-kept, and centrally located hotel, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!
