Intourist Hotel — Hotel in Termez

Unexpected delight. This property deserves to be full when tourists return.

Single room had modern furnishings, new bathroom setup, great A/C, hot water, internet averaging 9 Mbps, functional refrigerator. Nicer than expected. Akin to a U.S. Motel 6.

Staff is great. They went out of their way to ensure any needs were met, that I could get around town, knew where food was, etc. Restaurants & market within easy walking distance.

Hotel owner graciously arranged a visit to sites I was interested in. It’s a spread out city, and main tourist draws are not within walking distance, so the assistance was necessary and much appreciated.

And although I did not bother to check, i don't think that the other hotels were any better. My room was clean as well as the bathroom, very basic but for one night it was OK and it has a quite decent size. One saving grace was that there was a rather large market just two hundred metres away. Reception staff were very helpful and helped me sort out my onward travel to Samarkand by collective taxi, as good as any other transport as far as I am concerned. Adatto a chi non ha troppe pretese ha tra i punti deboli la lontananza dal centro, ma i taxi costano poco e quindi non è un problema, manca sicuramente di fascino e ricorda (probabilmente lo è) gli alberghi di sovietica memoria. È comunque spazioso, pulito, le camere sono ampie e confortevoli. La colazione è sufficiente considerati gli ottimi standard uzbeki nelle varie sistemazioni provate nel paese. Il vero punto di forza è la cortesia e disponibilità del personale alla reception.
