We stayed in the Olé Caribe at the beginning of November, we found it to be very comfortable, friendly and efficient service. The room was spacious (we chose one with a terrace and a view over the coast and nearby beaches), everything worked, no problems except a minor invasion of ants from the terrace which was dealt with by the hotel management. The hotel claims it's own water supply from a well, and also has its own electricity plant. Breakfast was until 10am, good choice of hot and cold food, fruit, and an omelette stand which we missed as it's almost invisible on the edge of the dining area by the pool. The pool is very nice, from 1.5 to 2.2m depth, lots of lounge seats (one minor complaint would be that the Avianca crews reserve the best seats with towels from early morning). We also had dinner in the pool restaurant, very good, though portions are on the small side. There are very good restaurants close by, Santiago is the best, Cristal Mar is also a good choice. Payment at Olé is in advance if you don't have a local credit card, via a link they email to you, it worked without any problems. Very good experience, we look forward to staying...
Read moreGood location with a nice view. If you're driving, entering the hotel can be a little tricky since the entrance is in a very steep slope which in turn would make it rather tedious to walk. The actual entrance to the building, the lobby is at the top of the slope. The bellhop is always vigilant and ready to help you out of the car and with your baggage. The lobby is spacious and comfortable. Staff is one of the best you can find; super helpful and willing to fulfill any requests. Rooms seem dated for a 5 star hotel but they're quiet and really clean. Beds are extremely comfortable and there's always several pillows, which is always a good thing. Ask for a room with view to the sea. Food is top notch. The pool closes at 7 pm so keep that in mind. Facilities seem to be lacking aesthetic maintenance though everything works. There's even a tennis/squash court. They have a business center, a gym and a spa where you can get a massage. An all...
Read moreAlthough the hotel premises are a little outdated and need renovation, the rooms are quite comfortable. But if you can, try to avoid this hotel. The alternatives are not numerous but they exist. ||The service, with a few exceptions like Carlos (the Lifeguard), is almost non existent. The reception ist cold and almost unfriendly. The food expensive and just ok. The cocktails do not deserve their names here. The reservation desk rude. They are very effective at requesting payments; we were called at 11 pm to remind us that they forgot to invoice 2 Rum and Cola!||The pool area ist quite nice but they allow people to bring their own music. When we were there an arabic family close to us listened to such tremendously loud music that we had to flee. We felt in Arabia and not in Latin America. And nobody said a word.||We have stayed at this hotel a few times and this was the last time. Sorry Carlos.||Summary: Avoid...
