Front desk staff was nice enough to return my son's clothing once we realized we had left it, and that is the outstanding plus of our vacation. Pool needs maintenance...it was gritty and couldn't see the hotel emblem in the bottom during our weeklong stay. They cater vacation camps for youngsters that are running around and we even saw a dirty diaper floating in the kids pool, with a couple of hotel staff just laying around not bothering to clean it up. Toilet plumbing was leaking. Only one AC control for both the bedroom and living room untis. 3 lightbulbs were not working and they changed a day after we mentioned it to front desk. Very basic kitchen with no can opener, spatulas, etc. and not even a sponge or kitchen towel, not even on request. One night we wanted to have dinner there and the cook was sick and did not show up (and had no substitute). No wifi connection the entire week of our stay. The beach that is near the hotel is not nice...it would be better to drive to the town of Mochima, a half hour away, and enjoy any of the lovely beaches you can visit in a small boat ("penero"). Overall, you can catch beautiful sunsents from the hotel and anywhere in Cumana. Being from Venezuela, it is disappointing not being able to recommend this hotel to anyone! First time in a few years we exchange our timeshare week to stay in a different part of our own country and sadly regretted the decision. The only hotel I'd stay in if I were to return to Cumana is the Cumanagoto without a doubt. Would...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel on june 2007 on a business trip. This hotel is basically used by venezuelan goverment employees on visit to this small city of cumana. Cumana is a city on the coast, so temperatures are around 30 ºC all the year. Why do I say this? Well, because the restaurant with air conditioning is closed and only the "buffet-style-open-air" one is working. Try to imagine having lunch here, with a suit and tie, and you will know why I complain about this.||The room was clean (towels and linen spotlessly white) but for a couple hairs' I found in the basin and bathroom (I admit it, I was looking for them when I checked-in). The air conditioning was working well and was very silent, the tv was ok for venezuelan hotels (20in, cable tv, about 50 channels). Laudry service was very cheap, though they ate a couple buttons on my shirts, hotel staff was friendly and answered all my requests within minutes (light bulb broken, batteries for tv remote control, etc). At reception they can contact some local companies for tours and taxi services.||There is no internet service at the rooms, but in the lobby they have a couple of socks to plug your pc for broadband.||Food is ok, though mosquitoes will eat you alive while...
Read moreI stayed for a single night on a business trip. My room was quite decent with a queen size bed vey comfy and very clean.||The bathroom very clean too, with toiletries like shampoo, shower gel, body lotion and 2 soaps. The sink was separated in other room from shower and toilette. ||The room size was fantastic, the forniture is a little worn out and needs replacement but is nothing that you cannot deal with.||There is a mini fridge with 3 or 4 bottled water. ||The TV was a 20" regular TV with cable/satellite channels, wide variety with english, chinesse, italian and spanish channels.||The A/C was already on with no remote nor way to fix temperature or turn it off.||The TV remote was...
