I absolutely loved Lu's place, I stayed there for two months in June and July very comfortably. It honestly felt like home and this is where I would stay again when I go back to Da Nang. I would highly recommend Lu's place, and so many people stay in her place long term because it is very nice. I also met people who were staying for the second and third time in her place because they always come back. I can write so much about what I loved about Lu's place, because I stayed for two months and loved it, here are some of the things I loved during my stay:
I loved how Lu would cook for us dinner and she would invite everyone in the house to eat together. We had good conversations during this time and it was a great way to interact with the other people in the house. I made friends that I still keep in touch with to date. Lu always gave me fruits to eat, whenever I was in the dining area. It's like how a mother gives her child a fruit to enjoy, it was very kind of her to feed me fruits. I was able to cook for myself food during my stay and this helped me save a lot of money, and I could store food in the fridge to eat the next day. Lu's place is very clean and neat. I saw the beddings being changed immediately after every guest, and even for me who stayed for two months, Lu would have my beddings cleaned and changed every week. Lu loves cleaning a lot, and the house always smells nice like fabric softener because she cleans everyday. Lu also picked me up from the airport in Da Nang on my first day so that it wouldn't be stressful for me to get to her place with all my luggage. The location of Lu's place is so good, it is in a quiet area, with a WIN mart 3 minutes walk away. This is why I was able to extend my stay for two months, because her place is so much like a home and peaceful. It really helped me focus on my project that I was working on, and by the time I was almost leaving, my project was successful, and I owe a big part to how the environment in Lu's place was so good to me and enabled my success. The WIFI in Lu's place is stable, fast and reliable, and there is also AC in the room plus a fan. You can switch on or off the AC in the room if you want because there is a switch for it in the room. Lu's place is very affordable, again, this helped me save a lot of money and even stay longer.
Lu, thank you so much for everything, I honestly wish you all the best. Your place was amazing and you were very good to me. I will tell anyone I know to give your place a try. The two months I stayed in your place gave me so much peace, even more than what I get at home. For this I will forever be grateful for those peaceful, calm, and happy days I spent in your home in Da Nang. In my home language of Swahili, I want to say ASANTI SANA (THANK...
Read moreI've thought for a while about what to put here. I stayed here for 6 weeks, and the majority of the time it was a lovely experience as the other reviews suggest. However the issue is the owner. I think her heart is in the right place honestly but she is unpredictable, temperamental and emotionally unstable. This makes it not a good bet for anyone reading this. I was going to stay another few weeks and return in the future, but now absolutely not. It's very clear that she has done absolutely no self development work in her life and does not see that she can be wrong or that she has any flaws with herself, her rules and her standards at all.
Towards the end of my time after staying there a month and being a very good guest by all accounts, all within a few days: she threatened to call police on me if I didn't pay her a small amount of money I owed her that day, insisted I asked for a discount when I didn't, outright said older people are more intelligent, told me I am messy and inconsiderate when I know after years of travel that's not true, prioritises repeat guests over newer people to an unacceptable degree, she took a picture of and kept going on about two small pieces of litter I left on the floor once - when she's actually pretty messy herself but doesn't see it, not listening at all in conflict, absolutely ZERO trust to the guest, even after staying 6 weeks.. I could go on. She even had the cheek to make up and additional 85,000 fee at the end as a late payment charge for what I owed her for a short time. Which I paid while getting the hell out of there. Her behaviour towards me was legitimately ridiculous, accusatory, unfriendly and the opposite of peaceful! - and that's not even to mention messaging me for days after about new issues to do with new guests (which were of course her causing) including sending me a picture of someone's unredacted passport. Making new guests wait for a while and up to two hours in this case, the fact that she doesn't have her own space and just sleeps wherever each night and the rats in the kitchen.
I'm truth I really did love this place and my time here - but I wouldn't recommend you go because of the way the owner is. The other guests, the house and the location is peaceful and lovely: the owner as nice as she is mostly, sadly needs a reality check and some therapy. Please...
Read moreThis is such a special place run by the sweetest, kindest woman with the biggest heart in Vietnam, Lu.
The facilities are clean and comfortable, wifi is strong, hot showers, water available for drinking, comfortable beds, air con, toothbrush, the list goes on. She even cooks daily for the homestay!
But what makes this place amazing is Lu herself. She goes absolutely above and beyond to make your stay and trip as comfortable and great as it can be. Whether it is arranging day trips, booking you cabs, providing you with information on the local hot spots or helping connect you with other fellow travelers at the homestay, she truly has one of the biggest hearts and goes out of her way to make sure you have the best stay possible. I was recommended to stay here by a friend and I can easily say it has been the best homestay experience I’ve had.
Lu, again, thank you so much for your hospitality and generosity! Sending lots of love and wishing you the best!...
