Tien Sa Retreat Da Nang — Hotel in Đà Nẵng

The Tien Sa Beach Resort.Danang Vietnam is probably the largest, most beautiful beach front hotel complexes on the ocean of Danang. Located about 40 minutes from Danang Airport and about 20 minutes from town way up on the far tip of the coast. The resort hotel includes a large infinity swimming pool between the indoor outdoor restaurant and the ocean. The sprawling white sandy beach goes forever along the coast in front of the hotel. There are about 160 rooms in 2 complexes and several beach front bungalows. During the high season only there is a breakfast buffet room set up just off the main in door out door restaurant. Remember high season only!! I cannon comment on the buffet breakfast as it was closed for my stay. Jet skies and water sport craft are available on the beach during the high season only. My room was professionally cleaned. Laundry collected and the sheets were changed everyday. The only restaurant has just 1 limited Vietnamese menu and no breakfast menu. No English speaking waitress, staff members or cook are ever on the property with the exception of 1 trained receptionist and 1 temporary untrained assistant manager hanging out in reception. The entire first week the resort manager was off the property and only in touch with his office receptionist by phone and not available to me. The resort is mostly here to serve Vietnamese guests and day visitors from the local town to take photos on the beach and buy a meal or a beer. Locals are allowed to visit and swim in the pool and beach. They are always walking by my room and around the resort taking photos at will. Be very careful and do your homework before booking here. Unless you are Asian you will not be conformable or able to communicate with any of the the staff. Although the hotel advertises 24/7 room service, restaurant and security the assistant cook and most all of the untrained staff members go home between 6 & 8pm including reception and my room phone operator. The room phone operator is never available even during the daytime. Most of the trained staff including the restaurants main chef were laid off after Tet the end of January and at the start of the low season.|Unfortunately this is when I booked my beach front bungalow starting February 9th through the 22nd 2020. This is not a good time to come here even if you are of Asia decent. Again if you are traveling here from any other country out of Asia do not come to this resort unless you are fortunate enough to speak Vietnamese and love the Vietnamese Street food available here.|After my first week ended without much food that I could eat and feeling sick I demanded my money back for the final weeks stay and booked another hotel. My 2nd week only money was finally given back to me after some harsh words and a little arm twisting I checked out. As a highly experienced American traveler I could not exist at a hotel resort that has a limited untrained staff that cannot understand any English and only offers limited Vietnam poorly cooked dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner by an untrained assistant cook. I woke up everyday to an empty restaurant, beach and pool. Yes every day. The above is why I am sure that I was mostly the only paying guest on the property out of 160 rooms and bungalows during my first weeks stay in Danang at the Tien Sa...

📍 Location: Right on the beach — calm water, great for swimming and sunset chilling.

🍸 Drinks: 8/10 – Cocktails were tasty and hit the spot especially pina coladas. Got like 50.

🍽️ Food: 7/10 – Like that they have set menu for breakfast. All food was good nothing special though.

🎵 Vibe: 9/10 – Laid-back, live music every night, fun, photo ops, perfect for beach lovers.

🛋️ Interior/Design: 7.5/10 – Cool beachy setup, it’s new so nothing too out dated. Lots of spots to sit for the hotel + private beach closes at 7ish, then use main beach.

🏄‍♂️ Extras: Inflatable water park was… kinda annoying tbh, blocked the view, lots of good photo spots.

🙋🏻‍♂️Service: 9/10 – The staff were friendly and helpful. Sometimes the reception was left abandoned though as others mentioned.

✅ Would return to hotel and beach. I got a good sleep every night here and could just stay here without going into town much for the days I’m here.

❌ it’s located next to a shipping port. Lots of trucks on road out to this hotel, as far as I can see water is clean and beach isn’t contaminated. Only stayed in the villas. Not the hotel rooms...

Nice beach, but the service is terrible at check-in. We didn't know where to check-in and who would help us. We went to the beach to swim in the morning and asked for towels and the staff wanted to charge us money for it. We ended up having to walk back to the room and grab our towels and walk back to the beach/pool. Never been to any hotels that we have to pay to use the towels as a guest at the hotel. Management wasn't available at 6:30am. I guess they are still sleeping. Music is quite loud in the morning. Seems like this place is made for partying not a place to relax at the beach. On the second night, the local guests karaoke late into the night and talk really loud (after 11 pm) and drinks like there is no tomorrow. The best feature is their breakfast. Will give them 5 stars if they can correct the service attitude and make the guests feel more welcoming at check-in and maybe tune down the locals...
