Our stay here was awesome!
Service was really good. The receptionist, Thao, was very very thoughtful and attentive to make our stay that much better. Everything was hassle free. Had three rooms and quality was consistent throughout. Rooms were spacious and clean. We were able to get the hotel to order us taxis, or even order us a taxi when we were at the sand dunes because Grab wouldn’t come. Rooms and hotel was nice and clean. Cleaning service switches your small bottles of soap every day so you never run out and they even switch out your bed sheets every other day. But you have the option to put a card on your bed to get them to switch it out more often if you’d like. Breakfast was a really nice spread, even had pho and omelette station. Nothing crazy fancy but still good options. There’s cold breakfast food for westerners too. Coffee wasn’t good though. Dinner at the hotel was surprisingly good as well. It does take a while for dishes to come out though. Pool was super nice. Had places to sit and spots that were shaded. Pool was nice and cool You get straight access to the beach from the pool but when we went (in early April), the waves were strong so we just went to the pool They had a tennis court that was free to use until 5PM. Then you would have to pay At their gym, only 1/3 AC worked. Pretty good availability of machines and free weights. Standard stuff. Only downside was the location. It’s about a 10 minute drive...
Read moreWe stayed for 7 nights., it is cheap and nasty. The bed was rock hard, but we requested a mattress topper after the first night. It was much better. There are no shops or restaurants near the hotel. It is approximately 2 kms from the town of Dong Hoi for restaurants and you need it because the food at the hotel is below average. You can catch a taxi to town but there is a limited choice of places with a menu in English. The walk in shower needs a non-slip mat. The floor tiles are so slippery. The other guests are extremely noisy throughout the hotel. It appears to be popular with Asian tourists. They scream in the hallways; they scream from the pool area up to the balcony to their friends. We had people in the rooms either side of our room that stood in one doorway and yelled to the other doorway. This was as they walked along the hallway. Despite us requesting they quieten down; they left their doors ajar so the 2 groups could wander between the rooms. What is this hotel thinking when allocating rooms. The swimming pool is inundated with about 20 kids each afternoon (maybe an afterschool program). They appear to be accompanied by teachers or carers not family groups. The walkway around the pool is extremely slippery. Our used lunch plate was still in situ the next day when we went back to the same seats around the pool. The beach was uninviting and covered in rubbish, We would never recommend this hotel; it was such a...

We will review the hotel in three areas: Facility/Room/Breakfast, Location and Service
FACILTIY/ROOM Gold Coast Resort & Spa has all the necessary characteristics of its peers, but it is struggling with the lack of tourism to the area. On the day of our arrival, there was no one at the entrance and exactly one single staff manned the grand lobby.
The room is clean. We got upgrade to the sea view without charge that overlooks the hotel’s pool on the ground. The sea view from the room is fantastic.
Breakfast is mostly Asians. The dining room was fairly hot when we came for breakfast at 6:30 AM.
LOCATION The hotel is located in an ongoing development tourist beach section of the town. The area feels very empty and isolated.
SERVICE Not able to rate due to deep cut in staffs.
Overall, we would give Gold Coast Resort & Spa 3.9/5.0 rating for its value and price of 1 night experience of stay as...
