The female administrator was full of lies. It was really the first time I had seen such a bad hotel. At the beginning, I asked the female administrator where I could apply for a visa, but she concealed the fact that I could only apply for it in Hanoi. She concealed the fact that I could apply for a visa in the hotel, and she also wanted to extort money from tourists for visas. I paid 2.3 million for the visa fee, and I mistakenly gave him an expired visa, but he did not ignore it and submitted it to the visa staff. Later, he extorted 700,000 yuan from me before he could get it done. The female administrator has mental problems and should see a psychologist. It seems that she only cares about money, so if you don't give her money she won't speak honestly and will point tourists in the wrong direction. I suggest that the hotel should just fire this kind of employee. I have no grudge against that female administrator, so why did she point me in the wrong direction? If she didn't know, she should just say she didn't know. There's no need to say no. Directing tourists in a wrong direction. So angry. There is only one female manager in that hotel. I suggest that everyone be careful not to talk to him when you go there, because every word he...
Read moreI stayed at Frontier Hostel at the end of June — I was intended to stay one night on my way to Laos, but the stay ended up getting extended due to some visa issues. The staff was incredibly helpful in helping me figure out how to get my visa.
The hostel was clean, the dorm was very spacious. There are also 'non-dorm' rooms that looked nice, as well. The area of the hostel is also nice with a few nice restaurants and cafes. The city itself doesn't have much to see or do but the area is stunning with a lot of mountains. I got to spend my 3 extra days, exploring the close area on a scooter and it made me wish I had spent more of my Vietnam trip there. From my discussion with the owner, the tours offered with Frontier look interesting, fun and unique and would highly recommend them to anyone going to Vietnam who wants an 'off the beaten path' experience.
Definitely not the stay I was expecting but a...
Read moreI booked initially only 5 nights, but because of their hospitality I extended 2 more nights. The location is close to bus stations offering most itineraries of the western north. And I can walk to the Dien-bien-phu commercial airport. The new bridge has been being built cross the Nậm-rốm river, that will provide the very short walk passage to town. The management, particularly Greg, Hai, Tuan and their team went out of the way to make my stay as at home. I really appreciated their hospitality. Beside running the hostel, Frontier Hostel & Tours is also providing tour services to anyone interesting in discovery the lives, cultures, landscapes of Dien-bien-phu and the the surrounding countryside. Can not write everything out! Just book and get there to get the experiences. Thank you again the team of Frontier Hostel &...
