TLDR: The best place we stayed during our 3-week trip to Vietnam. It's a fantastic spot just a little away from the center of town. It's lovely, peaceful, and quiet, with only birds and a funny gecko chatting away at night. You can easily reach the center in 15 min on foot. In Eden itself, we found everything we could ask for - a cozy, clean house for two, internet access, and amazing hosts who speak excellent English. They have a great sense of when to offer advice or help and when to give guests their privacy, plus they're super honest with pricing. The hosts are on duty from early morning to late evening, brewing excellent coffee, helping you find and book tours, providing laundry services, and even offering fresh local fruit and smoothies if you fancy. They can whip up breakfast, lunch, and dinner too, and that's not even the half of it. While you can walk to town, the best way to explore the island is by motorbike (unless you want to rely on local electric taxis). If you don't know how to ride a scooter, don't hesitate to rent one from the hosts - they're happy to give you a quick lesson. They taught us, and they're teaching a tourist almost every day! The hosts guided us to the most exciting activities on the island - hikes, snorkelling, night markets, you name it. They were incredibly helpful with all our questions and concerns, and they're genuinely nice and interesting people to chat with. We planned to stay for 3 nights, but we loved it so much that we stayed for a whole week. After a week with them, we opted for a couple of nights in a luxury resort. But let me tell you, Eden was quieter, more fun, more comfortable, interesting and more welcoming. Before leaving the island, we stopped by for coffee with the hosts. We really hope to go...
Read moreI highly recommend this hospitable little guest house on the outskirts of Con Son Town: ||Room: Simple and modest, but clean, large and functional. Bed was good-sized and comfortable. Shower worked well, as did the conveniently located electrical outlets. AC and Wi-Fi were both fine. ||Location: Nearby karaoke one night notwithstanding, the neighborhood was generally quiet and safe, though not especially appealing. There are no eateries in the area. Be aware that renting a motorbike is virtually mandatory, as there is nothing to see or do nearby and very few other options for transportation. Fortunately, even the most inexperienced motorbiker should feel reassured by the wide, flat, well-lit and little-traveled roads.||Food: Breakfast was excellent. I don't usually get excited about fruit and yogurt, but the version served here was so outstanding I had it every morning. Dinner was palatable, but seems designed to accommodate Western palates. Being someone who craves good local food, I found my two dishes here to be not especially interesting. Fortunately, plenty of dining options are a 5-minute motorbike ride away.||Hosts: This is where Eden House shines. Trinh and her husband are unflaggingly cheerful and accommodating. I had a motorbike accident that required a trip to the ER, and Trinh accompanied me and helped me communicate with the staff. Thank you, Trinh, for your kindness. ||Overall, a simple, welcoming, very well-run accommodation. I don't think you will find better value for your...
