Incredibly helpful staff. I was a little high maintenance because I arrived with a cough and asked for help with getting some remedies throughout the day.
The rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast is a great mix of local and western food options. Try the Pho, Vietnamese pancakes and the spring rolls. The coffee was wonderful, too.
Generally, there were very few people - at dinner on a Monday in November we were the only guests in the restaurant.
The spa smells so nice and the massage was good, while not the best I’ve ever had. The saunas (including a steam sauna) are new and really nicely kept.
Again, the staff was so accommodating and went out of their way - literally - so help with my every need (refilling my water bottle, translating when we were out trying to buy street food, making and delivering tea to the room, organizing a taxi, allowing me to use the sauna to cure my cough, making a vegetarian version of Pho…) I have never experience this level of service before!
You should know that the location is remote and there’re is nothing you can reach on foot or even bike around. So you feel very secluded. Bring bottled water and anything you may need, because stores are far away.
If you are looking for a very calm vacation with your family, this resort is for you. If you are a backpacker like us, know that you may be the only westerner here and make plans for how you are going to get to your next place - we didn’t and ended up having to use the only option: a...
Read moreRebranding of Ho Coc Resort. We were expecting renovated property and facilities, however this is just the same area renamed.
We paid for an upgrade to the bungalow for a bit more privacy. The upgrade also included foot and body massages for 2. The bungalow smelled of insecticide and just to be fair, there were a few mosquitos. The bed and furnishings are nice, however we had a small issue with ants in the room. The room stewards were quick to fix the issue and changed all our sheets.
The actual beach is about 200 yards from the beach front bungalow. The pool area is located closer to the main building and reception area. The spa/massage is next to the pool.
We stayed on a Thursday night and there were already a few tour busses of foreign students and a number of the limo vans.
The power also went out in the morning while staying here. The breakfast buffet which was included was sub-par. We gave the benefit of the doubt to the...
Read moreThis area is still in the progress of development. I stayed here for 2 days and 2 nights in August. They were all weekdays so it was not too crowded but too tedious in the evening. The outdoor lights were even turned off and we couldnt have a walk when it was only 6.30 pm. The bar was also not opened (I think open only on weekends). My building is Phu Vinh. The room was cosy, clean and well-decorated. Probably equivalent to 4 stars. The service was pleasant and staff is friendly. The breakfast buffets were fairly varied but the food were mostly cool.
The disadvantages were lack of means of entertainment and the surrouding not being developed well enough for tourists. Nothing outside the resort was for us to go or to eat. We had to take a taxi to go to the Ho Tram seafood market (which is 5 km far from the resort) and the fare is pretty high (1$/km)!!!
Highly recommend for family trips and stays there on weekends. Remember to...
