I’d travelled from the Con Dao islands to Soc Trang and then onto Bac Lieu planning to travel onward through the bottom areas of the Mekong delta around to Rach Gia on my way to Phu Quoc. Upon reaching Bac Lieu, I was told at the bus station there were no thru buses to Rach Gia!||I chose to stay at Nha Nghi Binh Dan So3 hotel based upon the hotel being listed on booking.com as being clean and competitively priced. It is on the outskirts of town but the 190,000 dong price over rode the fact that it is about four kilometers from the bus station.||At the hotel I was met by a very friendly and eager to help young woman who spoke a little English but with Google translator we managed. The air conditioned room was very clean but sparse. For the price it was excellent.||I’d planned on going to the bird sanctuary but online reviews describing the experience being “poor since Covid-19” changed my mind so instead I stayed in the quiet neighborhood exploring the local streets and river/canal areas. Finding restaurant choices was no problem.||The young woman discovered one bus company (Hien Van 098 7202418) that departed Bac Lieu each day at 6.20am and passed close to Rach Gia. I made a booking including a connecting transit from my drop off point to the Rach Gia fast ferry terminal for 200,000 dong.||Furthermore, the next morning, the owner of the hotel transported me by motorcycle to the bus station (for a more than honest price) and ensured that I boarded the correct bus.||The bus journey was interesting in that I was off the tourist route, encompassing many pick ups and drop offs of not just local people but also freight. And from Ca Mau to Rach Gia the countryside was more like I’d been expecting/hoping to see with more canals, more irrigated fields, more seafood and prawn farms and generally more of what I’d expected the Mekong delta to be.||I’d recommend this travel route and a stay at Nha Nghi Binh Dan So3 hotel in Bac...

Mình không biết giá cả khu vực này thế nào. Nhưng mình đi khá nhiều tỉnh ở miền tây và cũng ở lại nhiều tỉnh thì mình đánh giá như sau: -phòng rất nhỏ và nội thất bàn nhựa và khat inox nhìn rất chán, như mấy nhà nghỉ thuê giờ chỗ mấy cafe chòi ấy. Giá phòng 180 , phòng chán hơn nhà nghỉ 170k mình ở tại tp. Trà vinh( phòng có tủ lạnh và rộng hơn.), nhà nghỉ 190k ở tp vị thanh( nhà vệ sinh rộng gấp đôi thế này và phòng cũng rộng hơn). 30/4 mình đặt phòng trên booking, có xác nhận là còn phòng. Lúc mình đến nhận phòng thì báo đã hết phòng, nhà nghỉ đang có khách ra vào. Tụi mình thiện chí hỏi tối ghé lại được không thì nhà nghỉ bảo là không confirm cho tụi mình được.
