I would avoid this if I were you.
Good things first: the bungalow is nice, and in good shape. But that’s already it. The service and communication around the stay is really terrible.
After our arrival we waited for nearly one hour after someone came to the compound to open our bungalow, after we tried to call several times.
No one explained us anything about there. There is f.e. a numbers lock that closes the gate at night - if we didn’t receive the code by another guest we couldn’t have made it back in.
The compound is close to a very noisy street, and not es quiet as it looks
not all bungalows have view on nature. We just looked at a building wall and a rivulet with dead fish
You can supposedly order food and breakfast, but if you call they are out of everything except the very most expensive items on the menu, which is (not kidding) gold-plated wagyu-beef (aka the most expensive meat in the world). The breakfast was super basic, little and expensive
the bicycles to rent are in ridiculously bad shape and barely not able to use, it’s careless to give them out
the scooters are in bad shape and overpriced, but at least working
you should not expect any kind of information on anything (booking tours, recommendations)
We were travelling Vietnam for several weeks, and all the time low budget. We don’t have high standards, but this was the most disappointing place we have been to. I would love to say „they tried“, but they just didn’t. Once we were ignored by the responsible guy while we were sitting half a meter from him, waiting for his feedback on important information whilst we was playing games on his phone, not even looking up for 10 minutes.
The Mekong delta is a wonderful place and you should really go there by any means. But this place is so off and has such a weird vibe that they really managed to mess up our mood each day with something new. Spare yourself...
Read moreThank you for creating such a beautiful sanctuary! I chose Hideaway Homestay Bến Tre as the last stop of my Vietnam journey, before heading to Australia and after completing a peaceful 10 days Vipassana retreat. It was the perfect place to rest, reflect, and recharge this past 7 days.
The hosts are extremely kind and generous. They kindly picked me up from the bus stop when I arrived and even dropped me off when I left. During my stay, they offered me delicious sweets and unlimited fresh coconut water straight from the trees. They also took the time to show me around the town and the local market, which made me feel truly welcomed like family.
The homestay itself is quiet and peaceful. Each morning, I woke up to the sound of birds singing and butterflies dancing in the garden — such a magical experience.
I am deeply grateful for the loving, kind, and heartfelt generosity of the hosts. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature and warmhearted people, this is the...
Read moreI don't know if you know the feeling when you're on your way from one place to the next and only have to make a stopover to meet the basic needs: eat, shower, chill a bit, sleep, a taxi at an unspeakably early time and especially someone who will help you through all of this even though you don't speak a word of Vietnamese. We found so much more in the Hideaway Bungalows: the best homemade pho I have ever eaten, very authentic, large huts with a beautiful outdoor bath area, a panorama window in the middle of the most beautiful jungle with jungle sounds, a host who even later in the evening helped with concerns (vegan breakfast or ordering a taxi early in the morning). And all this in a wonderfully rural area, where you get to know a lot of people and are still connected to the city 24/7. Together they guided me to the right bus station and it was only on the bus that I really realized how lucky I was to have...
