Nguyen Tuan Guesthouse — Hotel in Cà Mau City

They tried to charge me more than I booked from Booking.com. They would not give my passport back unless I pay the money. Chủ nhà muốn thu tiền nhiều hơn cái booking của tôi trên Booking.com. Họ không trả lại passport của tôi nếu tôi không trả số tiền mà họ đòi. Vì họ nói tôi đòi một phòng cao cấp hơn khi nhận phòng. Tôi không bao giờ nói vậy.

When I checked in, i said I booked the room 2 nights for 370k. They receptionist then gave me a room.

When I checked out, they said I stayed in the more expansive room, which cost 230/night. So they wanted me yo pay total of 460k VND.

They said I asked for a upgrade, which wasn’t true. Then they said because the receptionist “thought” I booked the more expensive option. But I already stayed in the room so I needed to pay the price for it.

I refused. Then the woman just walked in her room and left me outside. She asked the cleaning lady to charge me 460k no matter what and refused to communicate. The woman avoided to face this problem and sent out a cleaning lady who did not know anything.

Rooms smelled like 1000 years old. Molds and cockroaches.

Avoid this place....

We stayed here as part of a 6 week, self guided cycle tour of Vietnam and Cambodia. We were very disappointed with this place. We had 3 nights booked, and nearly walked out on first impressions. It wasn't clean. It was noisy. There were loose electrical cables, and packing tape used around electrical fittings. Lots of mosquitos, poor ventilation in our windowless room. We had a stained bottom sheet and one blanket on the bed. We asked for a top sheet and the hotel were unable to provide one. After one night we cancelled other bookings and found another place nearby for the same price, but so...

Really poor service, receptionist ignored us. It was such big deal to get toilet papaer… room smelled so bad, almost like 100 years old mold. Bed cloths were dirty and wasn’t changed for longer period of time. If you can stay miles away...
