Unfortunately not the stay we hoped for. We were aware it was a bit further from town, but this was really in the middle of nowhere, providing us with very little to no options to eat elsewhere. We got transferred in a electric buggy from the point where cars can not get through and taken back on our check out day. They did not offer a lift to the main road when they saw us walking up one evening. The rooms were ok to nice, but little things like, lighting was impractical, no recycle bin for separate rubbish, they certainly don't seem to abide by their ecolodge way. You have to run the water for a good 5 minutes or so for it to get warm No Recycle bins Use straws in restaurant One day, room not clean, causing me to collect new towels. The toilet Smelt like it hadn't been clean The breakfast and dinner were sadly quite terrible, everything from service, to atmosphere and food. Didn't receive my drink, but my family all got theirs. I got my food first then probably 20mins later my family got theirs. The pineapple fried rice was appalling. Chunks of rice, cold pineapple, tasteless, and the crime seemed like it was 3 days old. I also think it was warmed in microwave as there was hot and cold spots. The waiter was very flustered and incompetent Breakfast, cold, and gross. I ordered an omelette, and the onions were raw, I was biting on raw onion at 8am in morning and it was very watery, not nice. Anyway, we left a day early, because we couldn't bring ourselves to dine here. When we went out, they were cementing the road, blocking it all off, forcing us to walk on the swamp embankment in the dark.very disappointing. When relaxing by pool or on the chairs out front of room, there was a burning smell covering the whole property. I complained to our staff, but they just say, it's next door, burning leaves, they do it all the time, we hate it too. I said it terrible, us guests spend 1000s of dollars to visit here and relax in an ECOLODGE, only to be surrounded by this. We had enough and left early. No compensation offered No recognition of poor quality service or food Just...
Read moreNice resort but far from anywhere even the main road. There is an electric cat but this was o ly offered on check in and check out. pool and grounds are well presented, rooms are a good size, however lighting was quite dark in parts maybe due to low wattage LEDs used. Had to go and get fresh towels as not replaced and roo. didn't get made up one of the days, so we didn't get bathroom supplies like toilet paper, Lu kill I carry spare from lotte mart. Restaurant breakfast and dinner wad the worst I have had on my travels in Vietnam and little insects flying on the cold food on buffet. We went to eat in town after our first day experience and you have 15 minute walk to the main road to get a grab car because there are no restaurants around. That evening we discovered the neighbours had closed off the road and we had to wLk along a swamp river bank to get out and back in to the resort but no communication to guests about this and reception already was aware when i spoke to him at 10pm. We also shopped at lotte mart for snacks for breakfast as we did not dine again there on a four day booking. We ended up leaving a day early losing the value of 1 night stay, after expressing my feelings about all of this I would feel some refund on the food bill for compensation would of been welcomed but it seems refunds are never offered in Vietnam even if they provide a bad service. I would not recommend staying here until maybe big improvements...
Read moreA real gem. An oasis hidden away from the hustle and bustle of urban life just a short drive away. Amenities are excellent if somewhat basic - nothing too fancy, but done well.
Staff were very polite and attentive to our needs.
A few very minor suggestions. The toilet roll holder is a bit hard to reach. A hook somewhere in the shower area to hang clothes on would be helpful. A cushion for the seats wouldn't go astray. And perhaps a small table to sit at in the main room. All very minor quibbles in what is overall a wonderful experience.
Having only just recently arrived in this lovely country and finding the sheer volume of people, traffic and noise a bit overwhelming, the Mekong Silt was the perfect way to relax and get our breath back. I wish we had remembered to bring our bathers.
I would certainly want to come back if we were ever...
