· 1. The view in the bay view room is amazing. It is really lovely to spend evenings at the balcony, BUT your neighbors have their balcony just next to you, so there's no privacy 2. The room was clean. 3. The peninsula itself is gorgeous. It's a shame that it's all covered with plastic and fisherman's nets. 4. When we took a 15 minutes walk away from the hotel, we could have a nice swim with no other people and no fishing boats and nets (well, not as close as in front of the hotel) 5. You're in a true seclusion there.
· 1. There are no additional services mentioned in the hotel description, like scuba diving etc. There was theoretically an option to go for snorkeling, but the receptionist could not give us any information in English (we asked about the location, time, duration of the trip etc. - no dialog followed). There is no shop either. You can't buy any snack, fruits, ice-cream, postcards, or anything there. 2. The hotel has no restaurant! There is a restaurant at the beach, but it's another business. You get a voucher to eat breakfast there. The only choice is bread with fried eggs and a variety of seafood local breakfast. You can order an orange juice, but there are no other fruits. In the price of the room we would expect something much better. Generally this restaurant serves decent food, but only seafood (I saw that they had some frozen meat so better avoid it as we had a blackout there). There is a "better hotel menu", but nothing from it is available. Another restaurant is on another site of the peninsula, about 30 minutes walk away. It's very hot there so it's no nice walk and I wouldn't try to go back after dark. 3. We had a bay view room and it was nice, but had no courtains and it faces East so you won't sleep long there. 4. Staff was terrible. They smiled and that's all. It was a miracle to find the receptionist at the reception, she would even put the phone on busy mode so we couldn't even call it from our room. They couldn't speak English. They couldn't tell us about snorkeling, they didn't help us to organise our transfer from the hotel and they didn't want to call the hotel hotline for us. The receptionist only knows how to order a taxi... But will not tell anything about the buses from nearby towns etc. 5. The hotel beach is very narrow, there are huge and ugly crab cages on both sides. Just a few metres from the beach, there are fisherman's boats and nets. It stinks...
Read moreThe Escalade Experience is a small hotel in Cam Lap. If you are staying here do not expect it to be a fancy resort. Almost no English is spoken by the staff. The rooms are basic, but have air conditioners, fans, TV and working wifi. You can get rooms with a balcony overlooking the bay, which is full of fishing boats.||||There is a little white sand beach where you can swim, but again, lots of fishing boats are right offshore. This is a fishing village and so everyone here is involved in the industry.||||The hotel rooms are thin walled, so you can hear guests in neighbouring rooms. ||||The restaurant was a highlight. It has great seafood. When I stayed, they had just brought in a catch of fresh lobsters, and I mean, JUST brought in. We picked two out and had them for dinner -- delicious, and cheap. ||||I would recommend this hotel if you are planning to explore Cam Lap and want a stopover here to try something different south of Nha Trang. But don't come here expecting a beach vacation, it's more of a jumping off point to explore a hidden part of Vietnam that few...
Read moreThe location is quite nice, but due to excessive aquaculture and the resort's failure to clean up, the beach was very smelly, with lots of seashells and trash scattered around.|The food was expensive, small in portions, and not fresh even at the evening BBQ party promoted by the resort (where you have to pay for each dish). However, there is a nearby fishing village where the food is fresh and very delicious.|The worst part was the attitude of the resort owner and the manager. Maybe it was because we weren’t foreigners, but I think they had just taken over the place and were complete amateurs, so the service was extremely poor. On the bright side, the staff and receptionists were friendly.|During the beach trip to Robinson Island, the speedboat driver even tried to make us fall off the float, and one of my friends lost an expensive pair of sunglasses. There was not even a single word of apology.|I will not come back and will tell my friends not to...
