Accommodation situated within a small village surrounded by mountains, Mr Kim's Homestay is a very unique experience living in a rural environment with minoroty group. The villagers are hard working and very friendly. Waking up early in the morning and working into late hours of the night. The food served here is a combination of simple local home dishes as well as a slightly more westernised breakfast. The views during dawn and sunset is unforgettable. Accommodation is relatively clean (as we stayed in a newly built cabin) and the beds contains the use of mosquito nets. There were still small insects inside and within the bathroom as well. Read moreWe stayed at Mr. Kim’s Homestay while doing the Cao Bang Loop, and it was honestly one of the highlights of the trip. The hospitality was incredible — warm, welcoming, and full of heart.
The homestay is tucked away in the beautiful incense village, where you can wander through and watch incense being made just like it has been for centuries. Even though our host didn’t speak English, her contagious laughter and kind energy made us feel right at home. She went out of her way to help us, and her cooking? Absolutely delicious.

Everyone was so warm and welcoming, food was soo delicious (I eat vegetarian and was so happy with all the different vegetables they served, my boyfriend liked the meat as well) and the village is so interesting to walk through.
