Hà Giang Xanh Retreat - Trekking, Tour, Motorbike Rental — Hotel in Hà Giang

The family is welcoming and really eager to make your stay comfortable. They offered us various services like pick up for free in the city (we stayed 3 days and they would have picked us up anytime I guess), sightseeing tours etc.

As I understood, it is a big family running several homestays, so they take turns, therefore you will encounter different people almost each day. This, and the fact that they didn't finish building the homestay yet, might also be the reason why the organisation and coordination of the homestay is a bit chaotic. We had to communicate several shortcomings in the 2 rooms we had (had to change once). There are several things we noticed that need improving, which we told the owners, and I really hope they listened, because the homestay has the potential to be a really nice place. Anyhow, once communicated the family did their best to get rid of the problem and to offer us a solution, they are very reactive. Also the decoration of the whole area is beautiful and they have many cool projects being built.

Furthermore I hope they will improve their vegetarian food menu. They were a bit lost when we told them we are vegetarian. The price though is very reasonable for what we got.

We booked a first night in the cosy cottage, then a 3-day private tour on the HG loop and then one more night in a room with garden view. Both rooms are beautiful and clean and we had two very comfortable nights. The 3-day tour was an absolute highlight and we were very happy that we booked the private tour directly at the residence, so we could go places where groups don't come and could travel at our own pace. We had two great guides that were super friendly and fun. We were a bit afraid it would all be too popular and touristic but it definitely wasn't. What stands out at the accommodation is the way the staff helps you with everything. We could easily arrange it all, at any time of day; the tour, laundry, luggage storage during the loop, dinner, taxi pick-up, transport to Hanoi airport the next day early in the morning, it all was super easy and for a good price. The host - Mr Long is extremely warm and welcoming, always making us feel at home. The room was spotless, comfortable, and fully equipped, with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

Specially thanks to ms Lan. What truly stood out was the food – the local specialties were not only fresh and flavorful but also prepared with great care. Staying here would not be complete without trying the meals at the retreat; they capture the authentic taste of Ha Giang and made our experience even more memorable.
