I arrived from Danang airport in a pouring rain and caught a taxi to the homestay. It looked dark and empty. I was worried. A couple of seconds later as my luggage was unloaded I met Hong aka Hannah and was brought into a beautiful place ! Lit lanterns everywhere and a very friendly family gave me comfort and while I was checked in offered my hot tea and I was introduced to Aliana another guest who took me under her wing and it almost made me cry. I was tired and road weary and this family made me feel right at home. My room, the Vivi room was gorgeous with a fabulous bathroom. loads of hot water and comfortable bed. Also filled with beautiful lanterns. ||After a cocktail and conversation I went to my room for a great shower and great sleep. The rain on the roof was perfect. I had requested the air conditioning room but I never used it once. The climate in Hoi An was perfect. Rain at night and beautiful sunny days. ||I was invited to lunch or dinner often and encouraged to join whenever I wanted. They only charge about 1.00 for this incredible Vietnamese food that is totally authentic and what real people eat here. No surprise, I indulged in this often over my 2 week stay. Lovely family, friendly dog and fun kitties. It was perfect for me. I didn't want to leave!! ||I am in touch with all the family via Facebook and even took a private cooking class with Bella aka Nguyen Strong. So much fun!||I cannot say enough about this place being wonderful. ||Enjoy and visit but don't take my room...
Read moreReally nice homestay! I loved the place, the style, the decoration, the people and the atmosphere of the place. I stayed 2 nights and the place was really clean, the garden was well taken care of and the ladies that run the place are very nice and helpful, I felt like at home! Oh the shower was the best! Fun facts: I woke up one morning and found a frog in my room, so cute! The next morning I found a sweet cat on the floor, so adorable! They provide many services: food, tour info, tour arrangements, visa extension, laundry... Which is very helpful! The food they prepare is delicious and there is a great patio/reception area with hammocks and beds to chill, have good conversations or read a book! Totally recommended! We also got to meet the family, a very sweet family! The kids showed us some basic Vietnamese words and the sisters gave us some really good tips about Vietnam. One thing, it is located a bit outside the center but they have bicycle rentals or you could get a grab/taxi to get to the center. Also Hoian is super touristy so I really liked the fact that I could stay and relax in a place without (almost any) tourists. I can't wait to go back and relax at Golden...
Read moreWe booked this homestay as it was recommended to us by some friends we met. It is a really nice place to stay and the rooms are really good. We had a private room and it was really lovely, it was nice and big and the beds were really comfy. It is all made of wood though with a huge gap at the bottom of the wall so all sorts of insects and animals cane into our room so probably not the best if you aren’t a nature lover! We ever had a snake near our room one day, that was a bit too much for me to be honest. The staff are also really sweet and they host a lovely family dinner every night. The only negative I would say Is that it is far out from the town. It took us about half hour to bike there and about 10 mins on a moped. The beach was about half hour on a moped. Everything is far too far to walk which is a shame if you just want to nip somewhere. However if you don’t mind being far out this...
