Don’t go to Lac village, it’s too touristy already. Go to Buoc village instead! And when you go to Buoc village, make sure you stay here! A beautiful homestay with super friendly owner and staff (the staff are all Thai ethic people) and 2 SUPER CUTE FRIENDLY GOLDEN RETRIEVER!!!!!!! the rooms are like small bungalow which built in ethic minority style. The double bed is comfy with big mattress, and thick blanket. The room is big enough and comes with 2 ways AC (for cold or hot). The toilet is also spacious and has hot water (it was cold in Buoc Village so hot water was important to me). There is a little balcony with 2 armchairs, you can sit there and enjoy the garden. The homestay has BIG garden with different kind of flowers, fruits and trees. The owner really invests her time and money in her garden. There is also a pool and pool table at this place. During winter they also have bonefire in the evening. The food is the most amazing thing here! The female chef can cook anything you want and her grilled pork belly with traditional species is the best! We stayed 3 nights and ate all our meals there. Highly recommend pork belly and deep fried fish. Map and Kem, the 2 golden retriever are my best friends! They are so adorable and they would come with you on a walk or when you ride a bicycle. They will also swim in the stream with you, just make sure they don’t chase the ducks or buffaloes there. There are a stream and rice fields close to the homestay, just 5 mins walk away. You can swim there or have a long walk. If you take a bicycle and ride for half an hour, you can go to the onsen nearby and have a dip there. Every Friday morning they have farm market by Thai people from 6am, they sell all the fresh veggies or meat there, make sure you wake up early and ride there too. All the bicycle are free to borrow. They also have free workshops to learn how to make Thai traditional sticky rice (bánh ốc) or how to make a hand fan from palm tree leaves. The staff will guide you step by step. If you need a bus to go there, they can help you book a limousine for 300k/pax/way. I had a great stay there and I will for...
Read moreThis is by far the best airbnb I’ve ever stayed. It’s more than any regular homestay!
Location is about 30mins away from Mai Chau central. Although it’s a little bit far out, the homestay is properly equipped with all the necessities that you need.
The homestay also offers bicycles which you can ride around and explore the area. If you would like to go out further, the receptionist can also hire motorbikes or taxis which is very convenient. It was a nice experience to stay slightly away from the central as we get to live with the locals and ride around and enjoy some of the best landscapes in Mai Chau.
The homestay also serves some of the BEST dishes we have had in Vietnam so far. After chatting with the host, we found out that it’s her own recipe which makes it even more precious! The food serves here is definitely one of the highlight of our Mai Chau trip! If you are staying over the weekend, do have dinner at the homestay as you will get to enjoy some local...
