🔍 Things to note / Tips • Remote location: Because it’s in a village area, the access might be a bit away from main roads/routes. Plan your transport accordingly—if coming by motorbike or driver, check the road conditions. • Check arrival time: The homestay asks guests to inform them of expected arrival time. • Breakfast & meals: They offer buffet breakfast (including vegetarian/vegan options) in some listings. Read moreOur stay at Que Homestay was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip through Vietnam. It’s a family-run homestay where you truly become part of the local life. We stayed with a Vietnamese family, shared meals, cooked together, learned about rice farming and daily routines — everything felt genuine and welcoming.
The view from our room was absolutely breathtaking, overlooking vast rice fields that changed with the light and weather.
During our stay, we went on two guided tours. The first was an 11 km trek through the mountainous jungle. We passed through stunning natural landscapes and stopped by a home of the White Thai ethnic minority, who live in isolation from the village. They welcomed us with delicious food and flute music. We got to observe water buffalo up close and learn about their way of life. The hike ended with a refreshing swim at a waterfall.
The second tour was a 200 km motorbike journey. Our first stop was a traditional Hmong village market with handmade crafts. The route led us through beautiful mountain scenery and rice terraces. We visited waterfalls and hot springs along the way, and the final destination was the "Black River," reached through a bamboo forest.
This stay offered us a deep cultural immersion, meetings with local ethnic groups, unforgettable food, and incredible natural beauty. The family’s hospitality was outstanding. It was easily our favorite stop during our entire trip.

Read moreMy 4 weeks at Quế Homestay have been one of the most special times in my life! Spontaneously arriving at this place, I decided quick to stay a bit longer with Nghi and his lovely family! The village is a calm and authentic place, the landscape beautiful and all the people I met were so nice and welcoming to me, unbelievable (thank you everybody!)
Nghi became during that time a really good friend to me and after he told me about his future ideas, I could fortunately support him a little bit by painting a wall at his Homestay.
I cannot recommend this place enough, since you have everything you want to see when travelling. Wonderful people, authentic village, beautiful landscape, really delicious food and Nghi is also a very experienced guide, who can show you around, tell you everything about the different ethnics and take you for a hike.
Hopefully I will find the time one day to come back to my friends here - wish you...
