It's been a while since we had a break so, were looking forward to a peaceful and relaxing break. On checking in we were met by several extremely noisy children running around the reception area, 2 of which were actually climbing on seating / display in reception, whist the parents were chatting and hotel staff reluctant to do anything...obviously, we were a little concerned we weren't going to get the peaceful break we had hope for. On arriving at the room, we were not disappointed. Spacious, comfortable. Comfortable bed and lovely bathroom and shower. Before dinner we decided to visit the bar...lots of confusion around getting 2 craft beers...The bar near reception doesn't serve beer so after 10 minutes we were escorted and to the restaurant, found a seat next to the pond and waited a further 10 minute's before the beer arrived. The first night's food was a seafood buffet, again, it didn't disappoint, an outstanding selection of food available with a chef available to bbq a fresh selection of seafood, should you desire. Breakfast service, all be it crowded, there was a wide selection of food to suit all tastes. The main dining area was a little hot and uncomfortable for us so, we found an air conditioned anex room adjacent to the main dining room. The second evening, we arrive at the restaurant a little later. After being seated, we had to move to a quieter part of the restaurant, as the child at the opposite table had baby shark playing on a tablet whilst eating, once again no management intervention. The music could be heared all over the restaurant. Breakfast, nowhere to sit...3 times we moved to try and find a seat. 2 tables outside with the smokers and once in the main dining area. Unfortunately, the table wasn't set, so we had to walk round trying to find cutlery to eat. The evening we went to Hue and had room service which was good. The following morning we went for breakfast a little later to let the crowds die down a little All good. Checked out at 12 o clock, had to wait 30 minutes for them to check the room and then they still got the bill wrong...lucky, we were still in Hue and returned to the hotel to collect our bags so we were able to pay the additional monies. If the receptionist just served one person at a time it wouldn't have been such a chaotic checkout. Unfortunately, we left for the airport earlier than planed due to the noise in the bar area. Again, children running between the chairs in the bar area where we were trying to relax and enjoy a drink before our flight home. On a positive, The hotel and surrounding grounds were exceptional. We would like complement the staff. All staff were exceptionally polite and curtious, super friendly and went out of their way to speak to us on...
Read moreWe only used the resort’s daypass service, so we are not reviewing the rooms but rather evaluating the day service package.
For 640,000 VND, we experienced a sauna session that included four types of rooms: a hot stone sauna, a Himalayan salt stone sauna, an aromatherapy sauna, and a cold sauna room, plus an intermission room.
The package also included a delicious lunch. In addition, there were both indoor and outdoor onsen baths, complete with steam and dry sauna rooms and a Jacuzzi pool. Everything was simply outstanding.
The sauna areas were very clean, and the staff provided attentive guidance in English.
Everything was perfectly prepared for you—from towels, a set of clothes for the sauna and another for dining, to other hotel-like amenities (tea table, combs, hair dryer, beverages, etc.)—all meticulously arranged.
Note: If you want to enjoy a long and peaceful experience, it’s best to go in the morning. In the early afternoon, tour groups begin checking in, so you will have to share the space, sometimes losing the inherent tranquility. We were fortunate to arrive at 11:30 AM and finish at 4 PM, and we had the best experience during the first 2–3 hours.
Additionally, there are some other special sauna rooms that are not included in the 640k combo: the leaf bath room (soaking in a wooden tub) and the mugwort sauna room (this room is exclusively for women—a special sauna designed for feminine care). I tried the one for women only, and it was an interesting experience. For these two rooms, you pay an extra approximately 10 dollars per room; just inform the staff and they will prepare it for you.
Besides the sauna area, we also had a wonderful experience passing through the restaurant area. The space is perfectly designed in a Japanese style, featuring a pond, bonsai, koi fish, and birdsong—a stunning view from the restaurant. Of course, it is currently the off-season; in the summer, there will be many tourists, so that serene tranquility might not be available.
We also recommend visiting Huế in February or March, when the weather is not too hot and there are fewer domestic tourists. That is the perfect time to enjoy the peaceful beauty of Huế...
Read moreOverall I had a great experience until the last night ( Saturday night) when the hotel was fully booked for some kind of very wild Vietnamese people- big families with around 50 kids of different ages ( they came to celebrate the birthday) in total who ruined my sleep at 5:40am and then again ( after I told them to shut up) at 07:40 am so I couldn’t fall asleep anymore ( I worked till 01:00 am and wanted to sleep at least till 0900)🤦🏼♀️Their kids are running the hallway from early morning screaming with doors opened into their rooms where their parents are shouting at each other ( those uneducated people from the villages can’t talk quite). You can hear it with your door closed very loudly ( my alarm rings even quieter). The evening before they were singing karaoke in the meeting room next to the lobby bar ( in the main building), so I could hear it in my room on 5th floor.I don’t understand why hotel management allows these such big groups which don’t even know to to respect other guests especially in 5* hotel to stay at such famous brand hotel ( Meliá) .Those kind of the LOCAL guests just ruin the image of the hotel! I pay money for 5* hotel to have a good sleep, but not to be disturbed by other guests 24/7 who have no manners and do not teach their kids how to behave in such places. My suggestions for a light sleepers to AVOID this hotel on WEEKENDS as you probably won’t be able to sleep.I have been living in Vietnam for 7 months ( mostly in 4-5* hotels ) and noticed that is a common practice for some Vietnamese to gather whole village and book 5* star hotel for weekends for celebrations. I had the same issue in very nice 4* hotel in Hoi A where I stayed during 6 weeks. Every weekend it was a nightmare for me (in the night and early morning!). In all other aspects if you come to Kobi during the week this is amazing hotel! Beds, views, ONSEN, breakfast….and staff are amazing! Thanks to everyone who works in this hotel for providing a high...
