Don’t understand why this place has such high ratings. First impressions were good upon arrival, but once more guests arrived, the toilets were not maintained at all and were dirty. And it’s 2 shared toilets (shower abs toilet seat together) to about 20 guests. The slippers they ask you to change to after taking off your shoes are cloth hotel slippers that are already brown. There’s no heating in the house, so it can get cold. And no towels provided. The worst was animal scuttling and squealing sounds in the roof that kept us up the whole night. And we found droppings on the floor in the morning. We tried to tell the owner about it in the morning. It would have been much better if he apologised about it. Instead he deflected and said he thinks sometimes cats go on the roof. We’re pretty sure they were not cats. There was also a lack of communication from the staff. No one we could approach for questions during the day. Before dinner the foreigners were sitting around waiting and wondering what’s happening, while the locals were served hotpot immediately. Dinner was quite tasty, but not hygienic to be sharing dishes with the other guests and hosts without any serving spoons. Breakfast was included in the price. It was ok. Received coffee and pancakes with chocolate sauce and dragon fruit, but it was served cold. Plus points would be the tea ceremony and the owner sharing with us corn wine from the village and sharing stories about his village as well as the lolo chai one we were in. Overall, the pricing of this homestay was much steeper than others we’ve stayed at during our trip where we received much better...

Sisters has two shared bathrooms for the whole property and it’s filthy. Trickle water for shower, sink is stopped up, flor is grimy with who knows what. No mosquito netting, and it’s an open air property, meaning no windows. Beds are not clean, no sheets, so bring your own. No towels, bring your own. Breakfast offered was cup of instant noodles for 25000 Dong. Staff plays non stop video games until he wants your money. If you get the so called private room, it’s a bed behind some plywood that doesn’t lock. Two restaurants in town. One has dog and rat meat - and some other rare species. The other just behind Sisters has decent rice and pork for 65000. I suggest you avoid Lũng Cú, make it a day trip...

We were the only guests that day, so it is a bit difficult to judge. In comparison to other home stays on the loop, we just had the impression as we were the only ones, they were not so keen to make a lot of conversation. The food was good, though there were not so many different dishes. It was also not as clean as we found it elsewhere. For example there was quite some dust in the rooms which could have easily been swept. The surroundings are lovely with great views and to be fair, it could all really be related to the fact that we were the only guests... Breakfast was good.

Comfortable lighting and thoughtful decorations within the common spaces inside the homestay. The couches, pool table, and stereo system lend to a fun atmosphere during the early evening after returning from viewing the sunset from Lung Cu flag point. The hotpot dinner really hit the spot. Lean beef, pork belly, chicken, green vegetables and pumpkin. Yummy! The hosts were friendly and accommodating. The bed and bathroom/shower space was clean and comfortable. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful. I hear nothing but crickets as I write this review.
