Had a chance to stay here and celebrate our friend's wedding. The room and facilities are amazing, clean, spacious, well maintained. However the service and receptionist attitude are reason why we only gave 3 star rating overall. We booked the room with cot for our baby and when we showed up there was no cot. I called and was promised cot would come right away. The reception and I agreed the latest time the cot should be there. However it wasn’t until my baby almost fell asleep on my bed that the cot arrived (which was 2 hours later) The food at restaurant was so so. And they wrote down incorrect room number so we got someone else’s bill. When we checked out I mentioned the mistake and at first reception didn’t want to check where the error is until I demanded to see the receipt from the restaurant. It was someone else signature with our room number. Even though I told reception we don’t have this guest in our room reception gave me the attitude that I was lying and said it’s what the bill showed. I had to tell them it’s their business to check who this guest is (turned out it’s another guest at the wedding) not mine and I will not pay for what I didn't get that they let me go. The bride at the wedding had confirmed with the restaurant they would have steamed veggie for my baby. We ended up with steamed sweet potato that was served at the end of the party when adults already got their desert served. The whole time the server told me my baby’s food would be coming eventually. Luckily we still had some baby food left so my baby wasn't starved. For kid’s meals they were served with burgers. The beef patties were sour. They were clearly spoiled and inedible. Luckily I and another friend had checked the quality before giving it to our kids. We are not sure if other kids at the party knew about it or not. We feedbacked to the servers right away and didn’t get response from the leader until the end of the party when they offered something else to replace. Again it’s not until the end of the party that we got some response for any feedback. At the beginning of the party the servers told our table there would be no soft drinks, only water and beer. This is a wedding and we are sure bride and groom would not just serve beer and water. We were right. The bride was so surprised to see our table only drank water. Not Until the end of the party that we got three glasses of champagne. 😅 Overall it’s a nice place to vacate with ur family but you need to check the bill carefully. And if you want to book a party or host any special celebration maybe be aware of their organization and handling...
Read moreI frequently stay at The Grand Ho Tram when wanting to take a quick break from Saigon, but wanted to try Alma Oasis after hearing about it from friends. The drive from the city was approximately two hours.
Our room was near the reception desk and pool. The white-and-blue interior matched the resort, and the room was quite clean and spacious. There was no view from our bungalow, however (I don't remember the room number). Also, there was nowhere in the bathroom (such as counter or hooks on the wall) to put my clothing and toiletries when taking a shower, so I had to settle with putting them on the floor.
As for the resort, the grounds appeared empty aside from employees for the majority of the afternoon, but we didn't mind having the pool to ourselves. It wasn't until late afternoon when a work retreat started in the pool area that we saw other guests. We also took a quick walk on the beach, but the water and sand weren't very nice, as to be expected from any beach within a few hours from Saigon.
We then rented some bicycles and went around for a couple hours outside the hotel, but there wasn't much to see in the immediate area. Fortunately, we had a complimentary massage to look forward upon our return to the hotel.
We then had dinner at sunset, and we enjoyed both the varied cuisine choices as well as view as we dined outside next to the beach. The breakfast buffet the next morning also had a nice selection of dishes to choose from.
All in all, if you want to have a peaceful, relaxing stay, Alma Oasis is...
Read moreThis is a fairly quiet, small, exclusive resort about 90 minutes by road from Ho Chi Minh City. Its set on rising land going up from the beach, and comprises about 70 bungalows built into the rising ground. The gardens around the units and facilities are very nice. Not the place if you want action and night life....this is if you want pleace, quiet and tranquility. They have a very nice Spa and a very nice feature is the 90 minute daily spa/massage visit built into the price of the room. The restaurant is adjacent to and overlooks the beach and there are tables outside to enjoy the view and fresh air. Food is very adequate ( especially the breakfast buffet) , even if not at the gourmet level. We went end Dec 2016 as a family of 4, then my wife and I went back again 10 days later, just the 2 of us. We enjoyed it a lot and will probably return....the ease of getting there from HCM City is a big plus. The beach was clean, sandy and shallow gradient , making swimming safe. Very nice freshwater pool in the gardens. Staff very friendly and helpful. "Oasis" is a good term for this place.
One word of caution, especially if you are aged or not very agile....access to each unit is through the gardens on rocky steps.....have to be careful at night, or be very particular at selecting a cabin close to the beach...
