Lam's House Motel — Hotel in Na Hang

I've experienced bad is Southeast Asia but this accommodation was by far the worst and really took the cake and for the following reasons:

1. Unbearable Mold and Mildew The room smelled incredibly musty and like mold. There's likely mold in the air conditioning, as the smell got stronger whenever it was on. Our clothes still smell like it! Disgusting!
2. Food Poisoning We felt sick and had stomach aches after breakfast (soup and cold noodles). Do not eat there under any circumstances!
3. Deceptive Canoe Rental Information They told us there was no canoe rental further up the lake, only in their town. They offered to arrange a trip for over a million VND, plus 120,000 VND per hour for canoe rental. We don't know if they genuinely didn't know about the rental in Du Lịch Truyền Thủy for 150,000 VND per day, or if they just wanted to pocket a commission. 4)Fake Google Reviews They "fake" their Google reviews by offering a 5% discount for 5-star ratings. This is forbidden by Google's guidelines and, in my opinion, is very unfair to customers who rely on those reviews.
4. Beds Altough many Moskitos there was no Net or anything to hang one, the Bed was incredibly hard, had cockroaches and stains.

Here I advise you to do and what we should have done instead of booking this anyways overprised motel: Get one of the many Homestays in Thượng Lâm and rent a canoe there, you will have a lot less problems this way, it will be less than half the price and you can have a wonderful day on the lake. Lam's House Motel is a wonderful place to stay! Lam is very attentive and helpful. Na Hang is a beautiful "hidden gem" of Asia. Lam helped us get a boat tour with Mia. We traversed the lake past floating villages and beautiful scenery to an amazing waterfall! Later, we had a family style meal at Lam's hotel. His Mom is a wonderful cook, and the meal was delicious! We had more fish and vegetable dishes than we could possibly eat at one sitting. The whole Na Hang experience was well worth the extra miles along the Ha Giang Loop! We are so happy we came to Na Hang and especially happy we decided to stay at Lam's.

Our room was very clean. Lam is an incredible host. He spent hours organizing a boat tour for us by calling many of the boast masters on our behalf. So appreciated!!!!

He also figured our our onward bus schedule for Ha Giang.

If we had stayed longer we wouod have rented a motorcycle and gone to a nearby village.

Na Hang is a hidden gem for sure. The town itself is clean snd friendly with a little market and lots of little pho etc restaurants to choose from.
