Memorina Ninh Binh Resort — Hotel in Ninh Bình Province

I had a really bad experience here.

We arrived mid evening to the hotel, no one where waiting for us there to do the check in. After a while looking for someone we found a member of the staff having dinner in the restaurant and he guided us to do the check in. First thing: they gave us a completely different room that the one we booked on booking. Anyway, we were tired and we wanted to have dinner. Second thing: kitchen closed at 19pm nothing to eat, so we decided to rent a motorbike. Third thing: the guy on reception cheat on us and rented a old motorbike with no breaks for 300.000 for 2 hours… again we were hungry and we accept.

Next day we decided to do laundry, everything came back dirt, not blended and not ironed.. they tried to charge us 500.000 vnd for that service.

After that, we decided to leave the hotel having yet 1 remaining night there. There was no refund for us. No one care about us leaving.

On top of that just 1 person on the staff was able to “speak” English which obviously made everything easier (irony mode ON)

Really nice accommodation and very good facilities - rooms are beautiful and very spacious. The property overall is also very nice. Staff are good and helpful, but English language is poor. This establishment very clearly does not target foreign guests, so being aware of that in advance is important. The dining is entirely local, including the absence of cold beer (you'll need to pre arrange this, or be happy to use ice as locals do). Payment by credit card was also not available, although I am unsure if this was a temporary issue.

The location is nice, but distant from most local attractions. Ordering taxis is necessary if you're uncomfortable cycling moderate distances, or the weather is unfavorable for cycling. Walking is not a practical option. They do have basic bicycles available though.

I would recommend this property if you're not in a rush, and the Ninh Binh area deserves a bit of time to visit and enjoy. The property is rural, and that's part of the local beauty and charm. I would happily...

We booked the top room! Not only was the room full of mosquitoes, the hotel manager said that you have to deal with it yourself wherever you want to stay! Mosquito-proof and insect-killing equipment is not provided! When we left, the manager had a bad attitude and even humiliated us by stealing a small square towel from them!
