Gold Hotel Ninh Binh — Hotel in Ninh Bình

Got there & no power! The manager was not at all concerned, said power would be on in 3-4 hours ...... WHAT! I asked for another hotel, eventually it was agreed that power would be back on in 1 hour max, the deal was honoured in 30 minutes. Great first impression.||||We were not shown to our rooms.||No briefing provided about the hotel sevices available.||This is a smoking hotel, unheard of these days, although I am a smoker I always smoke outside.||The AC in the room did not cool it down apart from the operation of the fan.||They retained our passports, strange - but no security in the rooms.||WiFi stopped working after a while.||Ground were generally poorly kept with large beds of weeds prevent. ||Staff had no idea of the cost of a taxi into town.||Work on the hotel being performed, removed large panes of glass immediatly next to the lift creating a 5 story fall hazard to guests.||When we checked out they, tried to charge us again.||||Is this the 2016 equivilent to Fawlty Towers?||||The attached image shows a complete lack of care shown in the running...

When we arrived, the welcome was'nt what we had hoped for. Unfriendly staff, unattentive, receptionist spoke English poorly. The room was dirty (dirty sheets and towels in the closet, stains on the carpet, mouldy smell). The bathtub could not be used, the water was cold and the sink was clogged up. There was no wifi (which was promised on the website) and the pool was dirty. We payed for breakfast but when we came in the breakfasthall, there was nothing left but some bowls of noodles. During the night, other guests screamed in the halls and the fire alarm rang a couple of times, the bed was so hard we slept just a little.
