Me and my wife with my 2 sons and our mom and aunt. 4 adults and 2 kids (1yo and 5yo). things gonna be great except the day before check-out day and the check-out day.
We visited this resort for the second time. we stayed from 20-22 Oct 23 with 2 rooms (210 and 212) me and my wife stay in 212 and my mom-in-law and my aunt stayed in 210. on Saturday evening around 11 pm, we gathered in room 210. and when I sat on the relaxing chair (WOOD MATERIAL) at the end of the bed, I felt the chair was a little bend. So i pulled the chair out and I found a minor crack on the horizontal side surface next to the bed. But it was late at night, so I decided not to call the receptionist. And the next morning, after we came back from the swimming pool, my eldest son 5 years old, sat on that chair and it was broken. Then I called the room service to check, and she said OK, she would call the technical guys to fix it. Nothing to say right?
And when I was at the reception counter to check out. the lady Mrs Receiptionist Manager did the check-out for us. SHE SAID YOUR ROOMS HAVE BEEN CHECKED, YOU CAN GO NOW. And when I was on my way home, in the middle of the freeway. She called me and said because we broke the chair and the resort would support 30% of the chair's price. Mean, I would pay around 100 USD for that chair. I told her that it was cracked and my son sat on it and it was broken. And SHE with her determination, accused my son of breaking that chair that he jumped on that chair and made it broken. how the hell on earth a 5yo kid with 25kg could jump and made that chair break? She also said if the person with 150kg sat on it, it wouldn't be broken (how smart she is). She said it was my responsibility to keep an eye on my children. I chose the resort to relax to enjoy my vacation and not to pay for the poor quality of these beds and chairs of the resort. I could properly sue her for accusing the customer without evidence. what if the chair broke and stabbed my son's body, who is gonna pay for my son's life? SHE ALSO SAID: After arguing with me, she found that I would not cooperate so she will leave this matter to the board of directors to settle down with me.
YOU GUYS CAN SEE THAT, SHE SAID OK AT CHECK OUT. So nothing to discuss after you let the customer go right? But She tried to call the customer via phone after checking out. What is her attention, the Negative side of the Resort? Blackmail? any kind of making money from customers? She also confirmed with me via phone that the Resort had a checklist to make sure all the stuff inside the room was OK after releasing it to customers. But I tell you guys. Check list is just a piece of paper. you cannot control the quality of the material with 100%. She strongly accused me that was my family's fault. that was the worst experience for my family in this resort.
For Lan Rung Resort The food, the view, the beach were good. But you must have a look at your service again especially the attitude of your employees (especially Receptionist Manager), your quality again otherwise you will lose your valued customers. I hope you guys see the review and I wanted the apology from the receptionist manager. What do you think if people all over the world see and know how bad is your customer service after this in every social...

Room - Do not ever book the bungalow room. Here’s why: 1, you are staying on the other side of the road - not the beach side. this side also does not have any pools or restaurants and is very secluded. 2, there are only 3 bungalows in this entire place, meaning you’d be staying with 2 other families here alone. 3, the “garden” advertisement is a lie. it’s legit just dead trees and grasses. 4, the 2 bedroom bungalow is a lie also. there is a smaller bedroom inside the big one that does NOT have any door separating and NO AC IN THAT ROOM. 4, the view is also also a lie. your view is a desolate area of unfinished construction full of concrete.
Service - the front desk receptionist i talked to was pretty much very rude and looked down on our family. she heard that my family has 4 people and not 3 for the bungalow, and asked to charge a fee for an extra bed. HOW DO YOU FIT ANOTHER BED IN THAT SMALL BUNGALOW. also asked for names for breakfast reason which is a huge red flag - more on that later.
Ambiance - do not come here if you’re looking for the real resort atmosphere - i’m talking about romantic or just a quiet and relaxing place. this place is a family resort. there are kids running around and jumping everywhere, especially in the lobby. it’s fine if you’re planning to come with a big family i guess but wait until you hear about the breakfast policy.
BREAKFAST - normal places check you into breakfast by counts of people. the worse i guess you can do is to give people breakfast tickets? but this place, checks you off by names. you are asked to provide your names when checking in for breakfast. during breakfast, they put up actual fences around the restaurant so no one else can get inside except if you go through the check-in place - super unnecessary and unprofessional for a 4 star resort. if you’ve already come inside and decided to go out for whatever reason, they will tell you that you’ve already gone it and doesn’t let you back, unless you combat with them which works. also breakfast food is really bad. imagine bad resort food with loud kids and families. yeah, no. also there were flies on food (pic below) and my mom got locked inside of the bathroom because the room was also bad. overall,...

We stayed 30+ minutes away, but wow — what a wonderful beach! The sand was soft, the water warm, and the pool setup was perfect for families. Our toddler had an absolute blast in the kids’ section and especially on the water slide — pure joy!
There’s a pizza place on-site that served pizza good enough to impress our toddler (though let’s be honest, our adult palates are a bit more refined 😄). The strawberry ice cream, however, was amazing for all ages! Service throughout the resort was consistently attentive and genuinely warm.
We stayed in Room 420, which was incredibly spacious for our group of 4 adults and a toddler who co-sleeps. He had so much room to zoom around, and surprisingly — all the furniture was really comfortable (a rare find in Vietnam!).
A highlight was ordering a full dinner spread from the on-site restaurant straight to our room — every dish was delicious, and the service was absolutely outstanding.
🥐 Breakfast was a total win: so many options, both Asian and Western! There were fresh fruits, drink choices, hot soups of the day, pastries, cooked-to-order eggs, and more. The buffet was well-organized, and there was plenty of seating, both indoors and outside right by the beach. Can’t ask for a better start to the day — big yes all around!
🐞 A couple of small downsides: We did encounter Paederus beetles (aka rove beetles) in the room. These insects don’t bite or sting, but they can cause serious skin irritation if crushed, so we had to be extra cautious with our toddler. Also, the window sills and floors were noticeably dusty, which made the room feel a bit less fresh than expected. A bit more attention to detail in housekeeping would take the experience from great to perfect.
Overall, it was a fantastic resort for families — from the beach and pool to food and service. We would definitely return, and hope to see those small issues...
