If you’re looking around for a place to stay in Phong Nha and you’ve come across Greenfield and there’s availability for your dates? You should hurry and book now :).
We were so fortunate to find and stay at Greenfield Ecostay. My siblings and I are traveling around Vietnam and this is truly one of the highlights of our trip. Rene and Ngan (husband and wife/owners) are some of the loveliest humans you’ll ever get to meet and an escape to their lovely home nestled amongst the beautiful rice fields will surely heal and rejuvenate your soul.
We booked the family room which fit the 3 of us very comfortably with plenty of space for our luggages. We chose to eat most of our meals at their home as well and every meal was comforting and DELICIOUS. We recommend the Bo La Lot and the local BBQ chicken feast.
Though we enjoyed seeing the caves and sightseeing spots around Phong Nha, we really enjoyed just taking it slow and relaxing around their property. They had well-maintained bikes for us to use and ride to the Duck Stop nearby and to enjoy the beautiful countryside scenery. We loved chatting with both Rene and Ngan and learned so much about our Motherland through them and also love hanging out with their adorable working pets.
Thank you Greenfield Ecostay for the most wonderful stay, we are so...
Read moreGreenfield is idyllic, set a short distance away from the sleepy village of Phong Nha in the rice fields. We came to Phong Nha to disconnect and explore the incredible scenery and we were not disappointed, this is definitely a place to switch off. Greenfield itself is an oasis, the pool has the rice fields as its backdrop. The rooms are comfortable and have everything you require, the breakfast was fresh and filling and dinner was different every night, freshly cooked and with produce from their own garden. However, what really makes this place are the owners, Rene and his wife. They made us feel so welcome, are fabulously knowledgable in respect of the local area and Vietnam more widely, and Rene is your very own Google translate, he speaks a number of languages so everyone feels included, he is also fair game for a little banter 😊 can’t recommend this...
Read moreWe had a wonderful time staying here. So much so that we ended up extending our stay an extra day. I had a some beers with the owner Rene and I really enjoyed talking to him. He's a great guy and provided me with a lot of info about Vietnam, where he's lived for the past 23 years. Great conversations, really. The location is semi-remote, and I enjoyed swimming in the pool with views of the surrounding rice fields and water buffalo. The food was also consistently delicious. I especially enjoyed the fried meat rolled in Lalot leaves (I hope I'm remembering the name correctly.) The room was quiet and comfortable and had a nice cold AC. Highly recommended.
Big thanks to Rene, his wife, and their staff for making our time there so enjoying. I would love to come back some day to...
