We stayed at this hotel for five nights as part of our trip through Vietnam. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the weakest of the three hotels we visited. Still, let me begin with the positive aspects.

The staff at reception were very welcoming. After check-in, we were taken to our room by an electric buggy, and along the way the driver thoughtfully pointed out the different facilities. The room itself was spacious, and breakfast was excellent. It can be enjoyed both indoors and outdoors, with nearly identical selections at both locations. The variety was more than sufficient, and the quality of the food was absolutely fine. The hotel grounds are attractive as well, with a large lawn leading directly to the sea. The beach is clean, and although swimming is only permitted in a designated area due to the waves, this felt safe and well managed thanks to staff being present. The spa is also beautifully designed, and the massage I had was so relaxing I nearly fell asleep. The hotel provides a shuttle service to Hôi An, which takes about 30 minutes and runs several times a day. Even our bus driver was very friendly, joking with us during the trip.

Unfortunately, these positives were overshadowed by several serious issues. We arrived around 8:15 p.m. and reached our room by about 8:45. Across from the hotel there appears to be a nightclub that plays music so loudly it is impossible to rest early. On entering the room, I also noticed a musty odor. At that late hour, I didn’t want to raise the issue, especially as we were hungry. At 9 p.m. we went to the restaurant, where I ordered spaghetti Bolognese, which was served cold. While not ideal, I tolerated it as I was tired from the journey.

Back in the room, I tried to locate the source of the smell and discovered that the entire bathroom was affected by mold. The following day I reported this to reception, showed them pictures, and was assured the room would receive a deep cleaning. We spent the day at the pool, expecting the problem to be resolved, but when we returned in the evening nothing had changed—the odor and mold were still present. I am not sure what their “deep cleaning” involved. Worse still, nobody followed up to ask if the situation had improved.

Other aspects also detracted from the experience. The pool bar, while fine at first glance, was not clean behind the counter—something visible to guests and therefore concerning. The walls in the room were extremely thin: in addition to the nightclub noise, I could hear our neighbor using the bathroom in the mornings. Housekeeping was also disappointing; for example, toothpaste my fiancée accidentally left on the faucet was still there two days later. On one morning, we even found two dead cockroaches in the hallway on the third floor, which remained there until the evening.

In my opinion, this hotel does not meet the standards of a five-star wellness property. If it were rated three stars, it might be acceptable, but at this price point and with a five-star label, I cannot recommend it. During the same trip we stayed at two other five-star hotels in Vietnam, both of which met—and even exceeded—the...

I am sorry to say this is far from a 5 star experience! The place is beautiful etc but the product is a decent 4 star at best.

Breakfast /restaurant is very noisy and badly planned. It sounds like a high school cafeteria. Impossible to get breakfast without bumping into people and it’s just in no way a relaxing start to the day. The staff tries but it quickly turns somewhat dirty, food on the floor. Glasses and coffee cups runt out, juices run out etc. It’s clear they need help with logistics to keep the buffé going on an acceptable level. No one offers coffee etc when being seated and getting someone to bring coffee is sometimes easy and sometimes not so! Not a 5 star breakfast, far from it! Impossible to walk around the restaurant without basically bumping into people sitting and eating. Way to many tables.

When we arrived for a 10 day stay, the first 4 days the pool was so murky we could not se the bottom. PH levels were toxic and we spoke to more then 5 other family’s who’s kids, like ours, got bad rashes on their skin from whatever toxic material they used to try and fix the problem! Can a situation with PH levels in a pool happen, yes of course! But there was no info at any point and when we spoke to them the response was very poor. Several bathing suites got destroyed due to the pool water, they all turned orange. This happened to several other family’s. We were not offered any compensation for this, which also shows how far from a 5 star place this is. Several families had to handle sad and crying kids who wanted to swim but it hurt to much because of the rashes the pool water caused. Even after the water became clear it’s evident they have a huge problem with their pool.

Service levers is far from 5 star. Some days ordering a pizza at the pool bar took 40 min to arrive, some days the milkshakes came in nice glasses, some days in small water glasses from breakfast. Same price but very different quantity day to day. French fries had barely been in the fryer etc. Service at the beach bar was SO slow we only went there once.

Cleaning is far from 5 star, we had same pieces of hair and trash on the floor for days (I left it to see how long they would leave it). They quickly swipe floors etc but there is no try to make it a 5 star room experience. There was so much dust in several places.

If this was a 4 star rated place I would have been ok with it. But it’s far from 5 star, we stayed at two other 5 star hotels around Hoi An and The Bliss is far from their level of service and attention to detail.

Some things are great, staff is nice and they try, but the lack of leadership and experience is very obvious!

It’s too bad because the place...

We arrived at the Bliss Hoi An Resort with high expectations. After a few stressful days, we wanted to stay in a 5-star hotel and relax. We chose the Beach Front Bungalow with an ocean view.

The welcome was very warm, and we were given an explanation of the complex. Afterward, we were driven to the bungalow in a caddy.

Unfortunately, our initial positive impression quickly changed.

When we arrived at the bungalow, we discovered that the Ocean View was more of a pool view. While you could see the ocean, it was definitely not the focus. Our view was more focused on the pool and the guests enjoying their food and drinks, creating a constant background noise. In addition, the guests had an unobstructed view into our bedroom, as if they were sitting in the front garden. Unfortunately, the bungalow didn't offer the privacy you would expect at this price.

The peace and quiet was also interrupted by the music from the pool bar.

We went straight back to reception and asked for another option, but unfortunately, none existed. Nor was any other accommodation offered.

During dinner that evening, the meal was supposed to be accompanied by music; the hotel presented a violinist who accompanied the evening with his music. Unfortunately, the music was so loud that it was impossible to have a pleasant conversation. We took refuge at a table in the back row. The meal itself was good, but only average. Unfortunately, the timing of the appetizers and the main course was not coordinated. While I was eating, a server came with the main course and tried to take the appetizers from me. Furthermore, the main course landed on the table while we were still eating the appetizers. At least we received an apology and a dessert on the house for this misstep.

In general, one gets the impression that the service is a bit overworked, which prevents us from really relaxing. Room service also knocked on our bungalow door at 8:00 p.m. and asked to clean the room.

The only positive aspects were the bungalow's amenities and the service in the spa area. The motivated ladies offer a high level of professionalism and do a really good job!

Summary: The resort is beautiful and clean and has a lot to offer. I have to say that it can't compete with other 5-star resorts we've visited in this price range.

If the price range were lower, I would recommend the resort. Unfortunately, the value for money doesn't match at all. It's not a 5-star hotel!

Follow up: Contacted the hotel as per the response to the problems. No feedback received. The behaviour fits the overall picture.

Also the fact that you are being treated as a liar and allegedly did not report the issues to...

I have mixed feelings about this resort. It’s definitely not a 5 star hotel experience, and because it was marketed as such, I felt that the overall experience was a little disappointing in some areas. The good: the rooms are very nice, comfortable and clean. It is right next to the beach. The breakfast is quite nice with some good variety of food every day. Some of the staff are approachable and friendly. The bad: it’s quite difficult to join in activities or eat at the restaurant without informing the hotel more than 4 hours in advance. We were met with some hostility when we came to the restaurant for a la carte food without having made an appointment. Also, we were asked not to join the morning yoga and taichi classes unless we informed the day before. The resort is 30 minutes drive away from the nearest town of Hoi An. They advertise that they offer a shuttle bus which they do but… only 3 or 4 times a day and again you have to reserve spaces at least 4 hours in advance. Even if you do that, the bus could be full. I only rode in it once because it was packed to capacity and had no air-con and I felt car sick by the time we arrived in the town. So, don’t stay here unless you’re comfortable using Grab/local taxis. The cost of booking a taxi to the airport and or to the town via the hotel is 30 percent more than any other service too, so that’s something to be aware of. There are nice pool and spa facilities but it was difficult to actually use them as there didn’t seem to be enough for the number of guests staying. We couldn’t book a massage at the spa (in retrospect that was good as we got an amazing service at a local provider in Hoi An at half the price) and at the pool many people couldn’t get a sun bed which led to aggressive behavior from some frustrated guests. This is not the hotel’s fault but it still impacted 2/5 days that I stayed there. There was extremely loud local karaoke from both sides of the hotel which meant we could not relax on the balcony or outside without hearing thumping bass and deafening singing. It wasn’t relaxing. If you’re looking for a quiet retreat this may be something to keep in mind. Finally, the coffee served by the hotel is not good. Considering the rural location, I would advise them to look into their coffee menu and revise it so that they can serve drinkable coffees. Honestly, it was the worst coffee I’ve had in Vietnam which was shocking as everywhere else I’ve had it had been lovely. Overall, the rooms are nice but the service and facilities aren’t good enough to compensate for its extremely out of the way location. If I were to visit the area again, I would stay closer to the town.

A Serene Beachfront Retreat ! We recently stayed at Bliss Hoi An Beach Resort & Wellness and overall, it was a delightful experience with a few areas for improvement. Location & Accessibility: The resort is nestled right on the beachfront, offering stunning ocean views. It’s approximately a 30-minute drive from Hoi An’s city center, but the complimentary shuttle service, running three times daily in both directions, makes commuting convenient and hassle-free. Accommodation: We opted for the ocean-view bungalow, which was spacious and featured two bathrooms—one indoor and another outdoor garden shower. The room was clean, well-maintained, and filled with natural light due to the wraparound windows. However, privacy was a concern. The bungalow’s proximity to the pool meant that opening curtains compromised seclusion, and the ocean view was partially obstructed. While this wasn’t a major issue during our stay, as neighboring bungalows were unoccupied, it could be problematic for those seeking complete privacy. Dining: The resort’s restaurant offers a diverse selection of local Vietnamese and international dishes. The breakfast buffet was satisfactory, though not particularly remarkable. During peak hours, the dining area could get quite busy, but the staff managed the crowd efficiently. Beach & Grounds: The beach is pristine and natural, equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas. The resort’s gardens are lush, well-tended, and dotted with palm trees, creating a tranquil ambiance. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean is a highlight, perfect for relaxation. Spa services: Offering a range of treatments from facials to full-body massages, each session was professionally executed, leaving us rejuvenated. The serene environment and skilled therapists made it an experience we looked forward to repeatedly. Service: The staff were consistently friendly, courteous, and eager to assist. However, there were occasional lapses in service consistency. Instances like forgotten orders or missed special requests indicated a need for more systematic operational procedures. Despite these hiccups, the staff’s genuine apologies and warm demeanor helped mitigate any frustrations. Conclusion: Bliss Hoi An Beach Resort & Wellness is a beautiful beachfront property that offers a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle. While there are areas that could benefit from improved operational consistency and enhanced privacy in certain accommodations, the overall experience, makes it a worthwhile destination for those seeking tranquility by the sea.
