I am a little put off by this place... in general the welcome was fine and the staff was pretty nice. I am travelling south from Hanoi and figured this would be a good spot with the reviews to take a couple day break. I booked one night and even figured i would stay two but i cant support this and i never leave bad reviews.||First - there isn't even soap included by the sink to wash with after using the bathroom. This place is just as expensive as where i stayed 20 minutes away that included breakfast, shampoo, conditioner etc. The least they could do is provide hand washing soap... so everyone goes to the bathroom and has no soap to use in the dorm unless carrying their own.. how unsanitary as potentially 10 people use the bathroom and dont even have soap to use before they open the door and leave..||| Secondly - as you will see in the picture the beach was absolutely trashed.. more so than even 50m north towards town.. Maybe the staff saw me taking a picture because as i left to explore the village they were cleaning the beach.. (guessing they stopped as i walked away because it was still the same disaster when i returned an hour later)||Third - After already having two local Qui Nhon beers here and (my bad) just assuming they were 10k as a previous review had said on Agoda I was told they were 15k each!!! I had dinner at a local place down the beach to eat and the same beer was only 8k each!! After confronting the staff and offering to pay 10k each, still a 25% markup from the eatery they said oh they used to be 10k but now are 15k... what a ripoff. I expect to pay a little more, but practically double... what a joke. This is when i decided to leave a review after going back to the restaurant I ate at and bringing 3 Qui Nhon bottles back, WITH ICE, for 24k.. 6k less than it would have been for just 2 beers alone here like 200m away..||Not a complaint but the mattresses are hard as a rock nearly so don't come expecting anything else... for being supposedly quite new it is obvious they cut corners here to save money considering most travelers like a comfy place to sleep.||The best part about staying here was seeing the local village, all the super friendly kids, enjoying the sound of the ocean and the only thing about the acrual hostel that was really nice was the above the beach, sandy...

Read moreWe had an enjoyable two night stay here, breaking up the long journey from Hoi An down to Dalat, and it was a good spot to relax and do nothing for a day or two. Our room was very large and clean, beds were quite comfy and AC was really cold. We arrived at night so when we woke up in the morning were amazed with the beautiful view from the room. You're staying right on the beach, which is kept clean in front of the hostel, and the sea was clear and relatively clean. There's a few loungers and umbrellas for the hostel guests. Really nice place to sit and watch all the local life go by, from fishermen to kids climbing up coconut trees and hurling them down. The beach quickly becomes very dirty once you walk past the small bit in front of the hostel.
Breakfast was the standard choice of eggs or pancakes, although we were a bit disappointed with what we got after paying 116,000 dong per night (for two people) for breakfast to be included. We were told that the included breakfast is only up to the value of 40,000d per person, and doesn't include any drinks - so it would have been considerably cheaper to book a room without breakfast included and to just buy it separately! They do provide free drinking water though which was nice, especially as most hostels we've stayed in haven't done this.
The lady running the place was really nice and helped us out with bus tickets, eventually phoning a taxi driver to go and pick them up in person for us when the phone line wasn't working.
This is a very small local town, about 30 minutes in a taxi from Qui Nhon. We got two taxis and each cost about 220,000d, although there are several local buses a day heading into town, with the first at 0540 and the last at 1630 (if I remember correctly - ask the lady!) The only tourists seemed to be us and the four other guests we chatted to at the hostel. It was cool to stay somewhere so peaceful, but the only downside was as vegetarians we were limited to eating at the hostel for every meal, which only had fried noodles or fried rice with vegetables. Fine for a short stay but just bear it in mind if you're considering...
