Last minute trip to Soc Trang for Ok Om Bok, the largest Khmer festival of the year. All hotels were booked except for a few random choices, Viet Nghia included. The price was a little higher than I was expecting ($19 USD/night) as I know generally Soc Trang and other Delta cities are even cheaper. However, the reviews stated that the location was excellent, rooms were sparse, and you can't use a credit card. All of those reviews were spot on.||||Wonderful location that was a minute's walk to the river where the floating lanterns festivities were. Restaurants, Soc Trang market, bus station, attractions are all walkable. Staff are friendly but can't speak English very well. I speak a bit of Vietnamese, so I was OK- but for tourism's sake they may need to improve. The security guard is very kind. ||||For two nights, no room service which was fine. A piece of artwork would have helped drastically. ||||I would have preferred to pay by credit card as it states online that they accept this form of payment, but upon checkout it is cash only. Overall, I do like this hotel, and would stay again (yes, the location truly is the best) but I do hope they get to see this review and take note of these small (but very helpful) tips of...
Read moreWe stayed for one night at the hotel on our trip to Soc Trang for a family visit during the Tet festival.||||The hotel is located on a quiet residential road so there isn't a lot of noise at any time. We've found the hotel facilities more than adequate. The rooms are clean with good wifi coverage. Our room is located on the 7th floor with a fantastic view over the city. There's also a shared balcony on this floor which gives you a wonderful panoramic view of the city.||||All the local shops and restaurants are only a short ride away on a bike or in a taxi.||||For a short stay in town we would...
