Mây House, Sống Lưng Khủng Long — Hotel in Sơn La Province

We stayed here for two nights while exploring the off-road trails around Ta Xua and the famous dinosaur spine. The family who run it are great, and offer a good dinner at a reasonable price. We ate with them one night and at a local cafe on another; their dinner was definitely the better of the two, although we enjoyed the variety! The bed here was comfortable, with a good thick duvet, and our cabin was nice and clean, with a hairdryer and heated mattress cover provided. The views are excellent and parking for bikes is right outside the individual cabins.

Regarding the road up, criticised in a few other reviews, the surface is paved all the way, but it's deeply potholed in places, so extensively sometimes that it's like riding on cobblestones. The majority is smooth enough, though, so I wouldn't be too put off by it. If you're a tourist who's a complete newbie on your bike, just make sure to complete your braking before each broken up section, aim your wheel squarely at each obstacle, and throttle on gently to ride...

Disappointing. The road there is very bad and whilst the view is incredible...its available everywhere in Ta Xua. As usual pictures from the accommodation look significantly better than real life. The bed was possibly the most uncomfortable I've slept on in 5 years in Vietnam... not just hard but a cheap local 3 piece mattress. Room was small, dated, poorly finished and very very dirty. The whole place lacked any real care or passion... trash and left over building materials everywhere.

Hosts were super friendly, and spoke great English... dinner was also delicious and hot.

Disappointing. The pictures look better than the experience. The road here from the main village is terrible. It's super isolated. The views are very nice for sure, however there is absolutely nothing to do here. No outside furniture or anywhere ro relax. I drove for a hours to get there and the last think I want to do is another motorbike excursion. The worker was nice however I would not stay here again. The mechanic shop next door was blasting music and sports and the paper thin walls didn't keep the noise out. Very overpriced for what you get and I got a...
