Hidden gem in a little cosy village. The homestay was beautiful and the host was very welcoming and could talk a bit of english. We had a very good stay and the food was delicious! After some rice wine, he began plating some of the traditional instruments and let us try as well. Some really nice sounds! If you exit to the right and walk down a bit further you have a majestic pathway further into the field which will bring you to the borderbelt with china. Incredible! The most authentic and welcoming place I have stayed in Vietnam. We arrived after a long day on the motorbike and were greeted by the friendly owner Hong. The homestay is located in a village belonging to the Hmong minority. We had a traditional dinner with Hong and his family and the other guests going with self made rice wine. Afterwards Hong played music on traditional instruments and let us try to play them as well. We slept really well on the futons. All in all an experience we will not forget! Merveilleuse découverte permise par Hong, qui nous a reçu chez lui dans le petit village H'mong de Lao Xa, niché dans les montagnes (paysages absolument magnifiques!!)

C'est une véritable chance que de pouvoir loger ici, et de découvrir cette communauté et cette culture en toute authenticité! À la fin du très bon et copieux repas que nous avons partagé avec lui, Hong nous a donné une démonstration de musique traditionnels H'mong, et nous a parlé de sa culture. Le lendemain matin, il a même pris de son temps pour nous faire visiter son village et nous a présenté avec beaucoup de fierté l'atelier de confection des bijoux traditionnels H'mong en argent, pour lesquels Lao Xa est connu. Une très belle expérience et de très beaux souvenirs :)

Le dortoir est simple mais bien agencé, si bien que nous avons même pu avoir de l'intimité grâce aux rideaux séparant les différentes sections (nous étions 6 convives au total ce soir là). Les futons sont très confortables, et la literie bien chaude, nous avons très bien dormi malgré les températures extérieures assez fraîches - une halte reposante après une journée de moto bien remplie sur la boucle de Ha Giang, pour un prix plus que raisonnable.

La salle de bain et toilettes sont également simples mais propres et fonctionnelles (eau chaude dans la douche) !

Il s'agissait définitivement de l'expérience la plus authentique que nous ayons eu la chance d'avoir au Vietnam, et elle nous avait été recommandée par nos hôtes à Ha Giang - soucieux que l'on découvre cette facette de la culture vietnamienne.

Bref, nous ne pouvons que recommander ce homestay à tous ceux qui souhaitent réaliser une belle rencontre humaine et en apprendre davantage sur la culture H'mong. Nous reviendrons !!
