The Black Ship Sapa, Vietnam

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I recently had the pleasure of staying in a charming bungalow at the Black Ship Sapa, Vietnam, and I can't recommend it highly enough! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by one of the owners Max and his fellow staff who were incredibly professional and friendly. They always went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their warm smiles and willingness to assist with any request made me feel right at home and part of the Black Ship family.

The cleanliness of the bungalow was impeccable with a daily cleaning service to ensure your room is always as if your checking in for the first time and it was evident that the staff takes great pride in maintaining a tidy environment. It made my stay even more relaxing, knowing I was in such a well-kept space.

Now, let's talk about the food! Each meal I enjoyed was absolutely delicious, showcasing the best of local cuisine. Every bite was a delightful experience, and I appreciated the variety of options available making the food consistently top-notch.

The pricing for this accommodation was incredibly reasonable, especially considering the high quality of service and amenities provided. It felt like such a great value for the experience I received, making it accessible for travelers on any budget.

And speaking of views, the scenery surrounding the bungalow was nothing short of breathtaking. Waking up to the stunning vistas of lush mountains and rice terraces was the perfect way to start each day. It was truly a feast for the eyes and a wonderful backdrop for relaxation.

Overall, my stay at the Black Ship Sapa was one of the highlights of my trip to Vietnam. If you're looking for a wonderful place to stay with exceptional staff, delicious food, and stunning views,...

Black Ship is incredible, what a location! Quan (Nickname was T, We believe he was the manager?) and his team made our trip just perfect, from providing drinks and food, arranging tours to being just lovely people we happily chatted to regularly.

It also has the best cocktails in Vietnam, made by T!

The location is so special, the view over the rice paddies is so worth the commute from town. Whilst a taxi from town is roughly 25mins and 350KDong/$20AUD one way could be deemed a bit expensive, the point of the Black Ship is peace and quiet, so not really meant to be day tripping to Sapa town. Still it's not costly for a 25min journey.

The food is classic Vietnam food, with options of Hotpots, BBQ or more common dishes and all cooked to a great quality.

If you are looking to visit Sapa, be out of town in the peace of the paddy fields, experience Vietnam and do local walks then Black Ship is for you.

One thing to consider is we accidentally booked a room above the restaurant, whilst they are just fine, the Bungalows are the showstopper, with open air bath tubs and open views. So HIGHLY recommend booking...

This place deserves all the business it can get. It’s the best place we’ve stayed in Vietnam.

The beds are extremely comfortable, the mattress, pillows and duvet are very high quality and so soft. They even have a heated blanket so you’ll be so toasty you don’t want to leave.

The views from morning till night are absolutely incredible. Best views in the whole of Sa Pa.

The hospitality has the right balance. It’s clearly family owned so a lot of love but they are not pushy with one thing, they have no hidden agendas which a lot of places do. They’re kind, helpful and always quick to respond to any questions but keeping independence for a trip where you won’t be disturbed.

We saved up our Christmas money from parents to afford the bungalow and it was totally worth it.

You’ll wake up to the sound of ducks too! Embrace Vietnamese...
