I stayed at the Muong Thanh Hotel for work. The hotel is new, and is meant to be five star. The hotel is meant to be five star. When I checked in and went to my room, I noticed a musty odour in the air. I couldn't put my finger on it, but when I then went to draw back the curtains I noticed that the wall under the window was wet and water stained - it looks like some kind of construction defect where the window meets the building structure means that water is leaking into the wall when it rains.||||I asked for my room to be changed, and unfortunately the room I was then changed to was affected by the same problem. Probably wouldn't be too good for people with respiratory issues. ||||The rooms do not have irons or ironing boards (although the hotel did help me - when I needed to iron a shirt for work the next day and asked where the iron was, a house keeper came to my room, took my shirt and ironed it for me in about 15 minutes). ||||On the plus side, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and well appointed, everything was new, and the wifi worked well. The breakfast buffet was good and had plenty of choices (even for a westerner).||||||There are better hotels in Thanh Hoa (such as the "Central Hotel") so I'd recommend avoiding the Muong Thanh unless you are...

I guess I have issues with cleanliness and how they handle problems. It didn’t start off well for us; our Expedia reservation didn’t come through and we were asked to sit and wait while they sorted it out which wasn’t really that bad. When we did get to the room, we basically just threw our bags in and left for some sightseeing. After we came back and cleaned up, I jumped in the bed and found it to be disgusting. It had hair under the comforter which was quite wet in the corner for some reason. Taking a closer look at the sheets got me even more upset as they we obviously stained in more than a few places. I had laid down on this bed before I noticed all this. So, I called the front desk and housekeeping came and changed the sheets and cleaned the room. We had also found hair on the floor. No one from the front desk or management for that matter contacted me to apologize or anything else. I felt like I was brushed off in a way. It’s a shame as I like this hotel chain and have stayed with them before. I won’t come back here and I’m not sure about going to one of their other...
Read moreThe place looked very nice. I also didn´t see dirt and the breakfast was also good, not outstanding but good. Reception staff was also good also with English. ||But the worst thing was the massage. The advertisment in the elevator showed a nice massage but I never expected that. A cold room, hardly furnished, looks like they used the sheets etc more than for one person. The person who did the massage didn´t speak English, came in "high heels" and a short dress, which gave me already a strange feeling. But the worst thing was, when she started the massage she did it in a way, like she was disgusted, second she did it in a way, that I thought she is total in a rush and stressed to go to an other appointment and third I thought she trained to play the drums on me. Finaly the question to give me happy ending was just too much. I wrote that to the managment but they even did not reply. But I think in Thanh Hoa it´s the only place. The rest in the...
