Mermaid Seaside Hotel — Hotel in Vung Tau City

My wife's niece booked our hotel stay here in Vung Tau, we also invited 15 other family members to come with us from HCMC. Niece got us a 2 bedroom apartment as its called there, it was very nice. 2 seperate bedrooms, 3 baths, kitchenette and dining table. We had a room on the 10th floor, overlooking the ocean, extremely happy with nieces choice. I did not deal with the staff because was not needed and the pool has a killer view of the ocean. The breakfast buffet was really good, asian breakfast but alot of staff, to restock food, clean tables and such. The bed they had in our room was probably the best bed I ever slept in, very comfortable from a seasoned traveler. Only small points off was that the beach is across the street but only giant rocks and no place to lay out or to take little kids to frolic. You have to go about 6 miles to find a kid friendly beach. Second, the pool with its great view, was too cold for our kids, even with the heat and humidity outside, they only stayed in for few minutes. Highly recommend for those not having kids and not needing to lay out...

Super disapointed with receiptionist: un-professional, and don't take feedback or any responsibily after forgetting to let guess check-in. On the one hand, my mom (65 years old) have to wait 2 hours. The other hand, they had the room already, but didn't inform us, even when we sat in front of them, and even I reminded one time after 1.5hrs of waiting, and left my phone number there hoping they speed up.

We arrived at 11:54AM, remind one time at around 1:30PM (and funny that they asking us back which app did we book from!!! Since begining, and told me that they've just release the room to another group, so they had to clean another room for us, after 1.5hrs of waiting!!!!)

And until 2:01PM I can't wait anymore, then they said that they forgot to let us know. But no sorry, still saying it's still 2PM, and still ontime. Unbelievable. This is the worst receiptionist...

The hotel is a typical local hotel that provides you with basic amenities. Personally I like the mattress because of the softness. If you come as a couple the queen/king size bed is actually 2 mattress joined together could easily split with a bit of pressure of a person sleeping or sitting in between. The included breakfast was a disappointment, I have had much better options and taste in a cheaper hotel. Besides the lobby on the day time had some AC, the other locations and hallways have none causing you to feel stuffy. The kids playroom had no ventilation so I'm unsure who would even let their kids play in there. The swimming pool located on the 9th floor was a good location since it's shaded with a nice view of the surrounding...
