My stay in Trúc's family was my best in Vietnam, and I have visited many cities and villages. It is difficult nowadays to find a place in the country that hasn't been spoiled by tourism. Here, you will live an authentic off the beaten track experience. |There are no foreigners around except the ones with whom you might stay with. The house is very clean, with a shared bathroom, and the fan-cooled rooms are simple and comfortable. ||But what stands out the most from the homestay is the hospitality of the hosts. Truc and her family are such friendly people, they really know how to take care of their guests. Truc knows the area very well, she gave me great advice on places to visit with a bicycle that I rent at her place. She can also offer tours that seem to be appreciated by many guests from the previous comments. Her mother, Dao, is a real pearl, and she cooks absolutely succulent local food. She offers fresh exotic fruits during the day, some of which I have never tried before. |The surroundings are quiet (except for the animals in the morning but that is normal in the countryside) and the neighbours are always smiling when you pass by. ||This is, in my opinion, a must in Vietnam. Cheers to this family that has a...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I stayed with Truc and her family for two nights, we had a lovely time. my boyfriend really wanted to do some fishing so we declined the offer of dinner, although I'm sure it would have been lovely judging by the breakfast her mother made. (We were able to get food, however had to use translate to communicate with people on the island) We were given fresh fruit picked from their garden every day which was lovely. Truc took us to the pagoda on our second day where we were lucky enough to experience a private festival they were hosting! We were really welcomed at the festival and found most of the locals really friendly, when we first arrived and had pulled over to get our location of the map, a load of local children came over to say hello and an older gentleman bought us over some freshly cut papaya. Some of the locals stared a bit, obviously not used to western faces but soon smiled when we acknowledged them. ||||Our room was clean and there was (thankfully) a mosquito net prvoided- being by the rIver (it's right behind their house) you can expect lots of mosquitoes. ||||I really can't recommend...
Read moreThe owner, Trúc is smart, welcoming and kind. She and her family will do her best to make your stay unforgettable. Her home is located in the river island so you’ll need to take a boat which runs all the time. It’s not a fancy place and there are no tourist attractions, so you will be able to enjoy fully local atmosphere. I stayed 3 night there to chill out, and I asked her to visit some local crafts making when I make a reservation, and she organized a day tour for myself. Also I shared all the meals with other guests and we had very good food cooked by her mom. Remember that you should discuss with her about transportation to/from this location to save your money and time. You’ll better to bring extra charger as you may encounter...
