From the start there was confusion about rooms, our friend was allocated an older room that was damp with paint peeling off the walls. She was then given our room and our luggage was dumped outside a room further up the path,|Our room when we finally moved in was clean and quite large. There were 2 beds, both mattresses were very hard to be honest I've never slept on a harder bed then this . There was no mosquito nets at all. It would have been nice to have one over the bed. The bathroom was clean with new tiles and a good shower, but what was totally ridiculous was the ceiling as this was partially uncovered, allowing small insects like mosquito to come in. We constantly had to spray the bathroom and bedroom with insect killer, also when it rained the floor in the bathroom became soaked and very slippery |They did supply a large can of insect killer which was left in the room.|The staff are extremely helpful |The 2 main problems for me staying at this resort was the food, and the unevenness of the pathes||I'm sure it's very difficult to cater to everyone's taste |The breakfast was good on the whole but I had to ask repeatedly to have hot a omelette not one that had been cooked earlier and was being kept warm|The portion they gave us were stupidly big meaning we left more then half, we had to ask for smaller portions| The food was bland with no real spices being used in the process of cooking, not even salt and pepper sometimes |The meals like chicken soup had tomato and pineapple and yellow pepper. Combination was Yuk.|One meal that got a massive thumbs down was a large fish that was deep fried so that the scales were falling off it, but it looked like it had maggots crawling over it. |I have eaten in all sorts of restaurants good and bad and this was no at all good.|I went to bed twice feeling hungry as I had hardly eaten anything as the flavours were too awful for my pallet||Other guest were equally surprised with the food, one family chose to only have chips because the meal they were offered was so awful|The second reason I didn't find this resort particularly good was that I have Parkinsons and found the place difficult to get around with many trip hazards, the tiles in the bathroom became slippery when wet the dining area outside was so slippery when it rained I had to be super careful. |I'm uncertain if anyone in a wheelchair would be to use thus resort as the paths are all gravel...
Read moreWe had a wonderful stay here. It was our first few nights in Vietnam, so it was great to arrive to such a warm welcome - plus a nice chilled fruit drink and some cooling towels.||The room was as expected, good air con, comfortable bed. We overlooked the pond area, it was very quiet, don't think we saw or heard any other people whilst we were in the room. The bathroom was partly covered and partly open to the elements, so you did have to remember to fully shut the bathroom door each time you went in, so as not to let in mosquitoes. But that was not a problem, I liked the quirky bathroom with its resident lizard!||Food here was fantastic. First night we were jetlagged and just wanted to eat quickly and go to bed. We were given a riverside table, service was great, food came quickly and was delicious. In fact every meal was really good.||One breakfast was buffet, including a fresh egg station, the other 2 days breakfast was a la carte. We enjoyed both.||Staff very regularly checked up on us, came to see if we were still enjoying our stay, and also reconfirmed our trip bookings. We did the sunset boat trip - which we ended up having to ourselves as no one else had booked. And also did the half day trip around local areas and industries, which was really enjoyable. We were very well looked after.||We took advantage of the provided bikes. They gave us a clear map of a good route to take, which mostly avoided main roads and went around the countryside areas. We really enjoyed our morning out, and stopped for lunch at the Family Restaurant just outside the hotel on the way home.||All in all we had a fantastic stay, can't speak highly enough. Thank you so much to all the staff for looking after us so well and being...
Read moreDisappointing is a good description. This resort is in a good location by the river and all the staff were very helpful.
The problem was pricing and the extortionate mark up compared to other places. A small can of Saigon beer was 45,000 Dong (13,000 in a shop.) Other places will charge between 15,000 - 25,000 Dong. It was/is literally an unopened small can with a glass, not even draught or bottled! All the drinks follow the same pattern.
The breakfast which was included was plentiful and good.
The other food was expensive. It was good but no better or worse than you can get in local Vietnamese restaurants. For one meal here you can expect to eat out locally for 2 - 4 nights.
Even taking into account the nice pool and the quietness of the place, the food and drink prices are just too high.
We also found the Wi-Fi in the room to be non existent for the first few days, you literally couldn’t do anything. It did however work better in the communal areas.
The room was ok but not great, the bathroom had a roof that leaked.
In short, this is a good example of a tourist trap, located remotely limiting your options.
I wouldn’t stay here again. This is based on 12 months travelling in SE Asia and knowing what is reasonable to charge - even at beach resorts.
Top tip: If you do stay here, stop at a shop beforehand to get bottled water and your favourite beer/juice/soft drink, keep them in the fridge which is in the room and drink them outside your room on the seating area provided, or drink them by the pool. And consider venturing out to other restaurants, you’ll save a...
