Most uncomfortable place to stay.. we booked a Beach Front Pool Viila. It sounds and looks good on Agoda , but once we enter the place, we regret choosing this resort.
Huge bedroom with view to the sea but directly to the afternoon sun . It is so bright and hot that we have to close all the curtains to hide the sun as well as the view. There is a king bed, one super huge lying sofa and one single sofa and one desk chair. Both of us have no way to sit down together unless we squeeze on the single sofa. Wooden desk is full of stains and look not clean. The bedroom is designed for people who want a room for only lying down for taking intimate photos and definitely not for an elderly couple like us,
Two dark steps-a safety hazard for us- lead to a huge dark bathroom .There is a large round sofa in the centre of the room. The air conditioning system in this room is old and not effective. It's hot and unwelcoming. We don't want to venture to the room unless very necessary like using the public toilet. The shower diverter stops working so both rain shower and hand held have water on when using it. One powerpoint is not working. In the morning there was a water leak all over the washing sink and the floor. Opening the cabinet we saw rotten wood panel..
In short this is an old and badly maintained or no maintenance place. Good for Raider Of The Lost Ark or Tomb Raiders , or intimate photo shooting but no fun for elderly couples.
Also there are no locks in the place. Badly insulated so a/c are effective after sunset. Plenty of mosquitoes and lizards in the bathroom area. Feel like going camping in the wilderness.
Forget about walking on he beach. There is no beach but small patches of rocky sharp stones. Wear foot protection.
Everything is old and falling apart: Pool table, amenities along the walking track... Only the facade of the dining hall area is well maintained .
5 stars ??? Could this be possible? Or rated by a Tomb Raiders fan AI bot?
The only good note is its quietess and fresh air away from civilisation.
Make sure to have mosquitoes net covered the bed if you do not want to be eaten alive...
Read moreThe service right from the airport pick-up was top-notch. I've to say, upon arrival by boat, my heart sank as the water was literally just dark brown and not emerald green. But Mr. Vo Minh Tan, our super helpful and adorable butler, more than made up for everything. He was speedy, attentive, helpful, and he held the video for us as we did our Renewal of Vows. (In the video, we could hear him sniffling! How sweet!!) Their menu wasn't extensive, and we were there for 5 days. But they really do their Vietnamese dishes very well. Flavourful and well-cooked. We had special dietary needs, and they did their best to accommodate us (low carb, low sugar) We wanted to go on the snorkelling trip but was sceptical about the visibility of the water. The activities manager was honest and told us we wouldn't be able to see much. We appreciate that. The only downside was the breakfast buffet. It was a decent spread. The problem was the buffet clearance. They stopped at 10 am sharp, and even if there were food left at the counter, it was all taken away. I was hoping that they'd at least just let guests finish up but stop service or replenishing food at 10 am. I'm on intermittent fasting, so it was like chasing down the buffet before they took all the food away. I can understand they may have operational challenges but I just felt sorry for the food wastage when they literally cleared everything off the buffet counter. Massage treatment was not too bad. The main restaurant building and the first thing you see when you arrive on the boat - it kinda reminds me of an alien spaceship. 😅 Gym was great. Equipments were quite well-maintained. We stayed at the Ocean View Villa. You could hear the neighbour's TV/music. So not very quiet. But it was a beautiful villa. Not much of an ocean view though.
All in - will come back. Even if just to see Mr. Tan and experience the gracious hospitality of their...
Read moreOne word to describe An Lam: breathtaking! I booked a beachfront villa with two bedrooms, and it exceeded all expectations. The villa was spacious, modern, and equipped with every luxury you could imagine. The private pool was incredibly relaxing—we enjoyed it so much that we didn’t even feel the need to try other activities like kayaking.
In the evening, we opted for room service, and the food was exceptional. Breakfast was equally delightful, served in a beautiful restaurant where we spent the entire morning, savoring the delicious meal while enjoying the gentle breeze and warm sun. It was an unforgettable experience.
Our stay was made even more special by our private butler, Bảo, who was incredibly attentive and caring. My time at An Lam was truly perfect, and I can't...
